"Jack-Ass" is a single by Beck, taken from the album ''Odelay''. The song is based on a sample of "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue", performed by Them, from their 1966 album ''Them Again''. The B-side, "Strange Invitation", is a re-recorded version of "Jack-Ass", played on acoustic guitar and strings and forecasts the style Beck would later use on '' Sea Change'' in 2002. Legacy Insane Clown Posse sampled this song for their 1999 single " Another Love Song", from their album ''The Amazing Jeckel Brothers'', but the sample was cleared with Bob Dylan, the writer of "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue", rather than Beck. The track is used in an episode of the Chris Morris radio show Blue Jam. Mariachi
Mariachi (, , ) is a genre of regional Mexican music that dates back to at least the 18th century, evolving over time in the countryside of various regions of western Mexico. The usual mariachi group today consists of as many as eight violins, two trumpets and at least one guitar, including a high-pitched vihuela and an acoustic bass guitar called a guitarrón, and all players taking turns singing lead and doing backup vocals. From the 19th to 20th century, migrations from rural areas into Guadalajara, along with the Mexican government's cultural promotion gradually re-labeled it as ''son'' style, with its alternative name of ''mariachi'' becoming used for the 'urban' form. Steve Hanft is a writer, director, musician, and artist. Early life Steven Paul Hanft was born in Ventura, California where he started making films at the age of nine. He has an MFA in Experimental Narrative Film from California Institute of the Arts, CalArts. Career Hanft is known for making music videos for the Cure, Primal Scream, Delinquent Habits, and Beck. Most notably Hanft directed the Beck, Loser video, and the Beck, Where It's At video, that won an MTV award. Hanft is also known for making films.
