Jacinda Barclay
Jacinda Barclay (18 February 199112 October 2020) was an Australian sportswoman who played baseball, American football and Australian rules football at high levels. She represented the Australian national team in five Women's Baseball World Cups and played professional football for the Chicago Bliss in the Legends Football League and in the AFL Women's (AFLW). Citing her success across multiple sports, ''The Sydney Morning Herald'' called Barclay "the Sonny Bill Williams of women's sport" in 2016. Early life Jacinda Barclay was born on 18 February 1991 to New Zealander parents and grew up in Chidlow, Western Australia (a rural locality in the Perth Hills), and attended La Salle College. Chidlow, Western Australia
Chidlow is a small community in the Shire of Mundaring approximately 45 kilometres east of Perth, Western Australia. History The Chidlow townsite was originally known variously as Chidlow's Flat, Chidlow's Springs or Chidlow's Well after a well and stockyard on the old Mahogany Creek to Northam road. The well was sunk by William Chidlow, a pioneer of the Northam district, who originally established the Northam road. Chidlow arrived in the Swan River Colony in 1831. Settlement began in 1883 when it became known that Chidlow's Well was to be the terminus of the second section of the Eastern Railway, which was opened in March 1884. Chidlow's Well railway station and townsite were renamed Chidlow in 1920. The railway station and yard were of significance in the operation of the Eastern Railway from the 1880s to the 1960s. La Salle College is a Roman Catholic co-educational secondary school in Middle Swan, Western Australia, an eastern suburb of Perth. It caters for approximately 1400 Year 7-12 students, including about 40 Aboriginal boarding students from regional and remote Western Australia.
