Jape are an Irish electronic–rock band from Dublin. Formed as a side project by Richie Egan whilst part of The Redneck Manifesto, they have released five albums to date; ''Cosmosphere'' (2003), ''The Monkeys in the Zoo Have More Fun Than Me'' (2004), ''Ritual'' (2008), ''Ocean of Frequency'' (2011), and ''This Chemical Sea'' (2015). Jape's wider discography includes the EP, ''Jape is Grape'' (2007), as well as a number of singles, including " Floating" and "Phil Lynott". The band have performed at festivals and events such as Glastonbury, Electric Picnic, Lovebox and Hard Working Class Heroes and provided support for The Flaming Lips at Belsonic in Belfast in August 2008. The first and second albums received airplay on alternative national radio in Ireland. The Róisín Dubh is a live music and comedy venue located in Galway, Ireland. It has hosted events such as the IMRO Showcase Tour and the 2fm 2moro 2our. Belsonic
Belsonic is the name of an outdoor music festival owned by Thomas Edwards which has taken place in August at the Custom House Square in Belfast, Northern Ireland since 2008. It is organised by Shine Productions Ltd. The capacity of the event is 15,000 as of 2019. As of 2017, Belsonic is held in Ormeau Park. The Flaming Lips
The Flaming Lips are an American psychedelic rock band formed in 1983 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The band currently consists of Wayne Coyne (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Steven Drozd (guitars, keyboards, bass, drums, vocals), Derek Brown (keyboards, guitars, percussion), Matt Duckworth Kirksey (drums, percussion, keyboards) and Nicholas Ley (percussion, drums). Lovebox Dublin is an Irish one-day music festival that has taken place in 2007 and 2008. The 2007 event took place in Malahide Castle on Saturday the 21st of July with the 2008 event taking place in Marlay Park on Saturday the 23rd of August . Bacardi sponsor the festival and MCD promote it. Electric Picnic is an annual arts-and-music festival which has been staged since 2004 at Stradbally Hall in Stradbally, County Laois, Ireland. It is organised by Pod Concerts and Festival Republic, who purchased the majority shareholding in 2009.
