Jaan Kaplinski
Jaan Kaplinski (22 January 1941 – 8 August 2021 ) was an Estonian poet, philosopher, politician, and culture critic, known for his focus on global issues and support for left-wing/liberal thinking. He was influenced by Eastern philosophical schools (Taoism and especially Buddhism). He worked as a translator, editor, and sociologist and as an ecologist at the Tallinn Botanic Garden. Jaan Kundla (born 11 October 1937 in Suure-Jaani) is an Estonian politician. He was previously an independent member of Riigikogu, formerly (until expulsion) a member of Estonian Centre Party. Jaan Kruus
Jaan Kruus (26 February 1884 – 15 May 1942) was an Estonian General. Jaan Kruus was born in Sooniste Parish, Kreis Wiek (now, Märjamaa Parish, Rapla County). He fought in the Estonian War of Independence and afterwards pursued a military career. He was promoted to Major-General in 1936. In 1940, during the Soviet occupation of Estonia, he was transferred to the Red Army and was a commander in the 182nd Rifle Division, part of the 27th Army. Jaan Kross (19 February 1920 – 27 December 2007) was an Estonian writer. He won the 1995 International Nonino Prize in Italy. Early life Born in Tallinn, Estonia, son of a skilled metal-worker, Jaan Kross studied at Jakob Westholm Gymnasium, and attended the University of Tartu (1938–1945) and graduated from its School of Law. He taught there as a lecturer until 1946, and again as Professor of ''Artes Liberales'' in 1998. Jaan Klõšeiko
Jaan Klõšeiko (10 September 1939, Tallinn – 21 December 2016, Tallinn) was an Estonian printmaker and photographer. Klõšeiko graduated from Tallinn Secondary School No. 22 in 1958. He continued his studies at the Estonian Academy of Arts and graduated in 1964 with a specialty in graphic arts. Klõšeiko worked at the publishing houses Valgus and Eesti Raamat, at the magazine Noorus and at the newspaper Televisioon. He was the head designer of Kunst in 1975. He also designed soundboard covers, worked as a photographer and captured cultural history events and people of culture, and the like. He participated in art and photo exhibitions from 1965, and was a member of the Estonian Artists' Union from 1979 to his death. Klõšeiko was a signatory of the Letter of 40 intellectuals in 1980. Jaan Kirsipuu (born 17 July 1969 in Tartu) is an Estonian former road bicycle racer, who currently works as a directeur sportif for UCI Continental team . He spent the majority of his career riding under the management of Vincent Lavenu, initially joining Lavenu's team as a ''stagiaire'' and staying with the squad in its various incarnations for 12 years, taking a total of 124 race wins for the team. Juhan "Jaan" Kikkas (5 June 1892 – 9 March 1944) was an Estonian middleweight weightlifter.
