Joshua Quagmire
Joshua Quagmire (sometimes shortened to JQ) (1952-2023) was an American cartoonist of underground and mainstream comic books, best known for his creation Cutey Bunny. His comicbook work also overlapped with and contributed to the early furry fandom of the 1980s and 90s. Biography Joshua Quagmire (the name is a pseudonym) was raised in the Los Angeles area, though he has remarked that his grandfather served in the Canadian Forces in World War I; Quagmire has dedicated a story, "The Last Time I Saw Tommy", to his grandfather. On the few occasions he has drawn himself into a story, he has not shown his own face. He is a frequent guest at the San Diego Comic Convention. His most enduring work has been the comic ''Cutey Bunny'', which was first published in 1982. Jon Qwelane
Jonathan Dubula Qwelane (10 September 1952 – 24 December 2020), known as Jon Qwelane, or by his initials JQ, was a South African journalist and radio talk show host who also served as the country's ambassador to Uganda in the 2010s. A pioneering and acclaimed black journalist, in his final years Qwelane was embroiled in a legal dispute as a result of a homophobic column that he wrote in 2008, that had important implications for the boundaries between hate speech and freedom of expression in South African law. Air Jamaica Express
Air Jamaica Express was an airline based in Kingston, Jamaica, which, before folding, operated as a subsidiary of Air Jamaica. It operated domestic and inter-island scheduled flights and charter services. The airline was established in 1973 as Jamaica Air Taxi, and later operated as Trans-Jamaican Airlines until it was taken over by business man Gordon "Butch" Stewart, who also controlled Air Jamaica in 1994. When Air Jamaica was renationalized in December 2004, responsibility for Air Jamaica Express remained with Stewart and his organization. The airline struggled financially and after attempts to reorganize and secure additional capital were unsuccessful, the airline ceased operations on October 14, 2005. Jetstar Airways Pty Ltd, operating as Jetstar, is an Australian low-cost airline (self-described as "value-based") headquartered in Melbourne. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Qantas, created in response to the threat posed by airline Virgin Blue. The Fairchild FC-1 and its derivatives were a family of light, single-engine, high-wing utility monoplanes produced in the United States in the 1920s and 1930s. The aircraft was originally designed to provide a camera platform for Sherman Fairchild's aerial photography and survey business, Fairchild Aerial Surveys. Design and development Fairchild had approached a number of aircraft builders with specifications for what he considered to be an ideal aircraft for this type of work, with which he hoped to replace the variety of types that his firm then operated. Believing the quotes he received to be excessive, Fairchild opted to produce the aircraft in-house, purchasing facilities at Farmingdale, New York for the purpose. jq is a very high-level lexically scoped functional programming language in which every JSON value is a constant. jq supports backtracking and managing indefinitely long streams of JSON data. It is related to the Icon and Haskell programming languages. The language supports a namespace-based module system and has some support for closures. In particular, functions and functional expressions can be used as parameters of other functions. The original implementation of jq was in C; gojq is a "pure Go" implementation. There is also a Rust implementation of a large subset of jq named jaq, for which a denotational semantics has been specified. gojq should run on any platform where Go is supported, and likewise for jaq and Rust.
