JOT (TV Series)
''JOT'' (also known as ''JOT the Dot'') is an American animated children's television program that ran from 1965 to 1974, and 1980 to 1981. The series consisted of 30 four-minute episodes, which were syndicated between 1965 and the 1980s. ''JOT'' was executive produced by the Southern Baptist Radio and Television Commission (RATC) as a Baptist version of ''Davey and Goliath''. History Not only the first Christian animated series, but presumably the first preschool-aimed animated television series, it was created by Ruth Byers, a graduate of Baylor University, and Ted Perry a writer at the RATC. Both had a background connected to the Dallas Theater Center, with Byers having been director of children's productions. Don Markstein's Toonopedia
Don Markstein's Toonopedia (subtitled A Vast Repository of Toonological Knowledge) is an online encyclopedia of print cartoons, comic strips and animation, initiated February 13, 2001. Donald D. Markstein, the sole writer and editor of Toonopedia, termed it "the world's first hypertext encyclopedia of toons" and stated, "The basic idea is to cover the entire spectrum of American cartoonery." Markstein began the project during 1999 with several earlier titles: he changed Don's Cartoon Encyberpedia (1999) to Don Markstein's Cartoonopedia (2000) after learning the word "Encyberpedia" had been trademarked. During 2001, he settled on his final title, noting, "Decided (after thinking about it for several weeks) to change the name of the site to Don Markstein's Toonopedia, rather than Cartoonopedia. The Texas Archive of the Moving Image (TAMI) is an independent 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2002 by film archivist and University of Texas at Austin professor Caroline Frick, PhD. TAMI's mission is to preserve, study, and exhibit Texas film heritage. The organization has three main projects: the TAMI Online Collection, the Texas Film Round-Up, and Teach Texas. ChristianFilmDatabase.com, LLC (CFDb) is an online database of Christian films and their associated information. It was designed to be a Christian version of the Internet Movie Database. History of the CFDb website CFDb was founded in 2008 by Roger Rudlaff who had previously created "The Wayhouse Christian Film Library", a library that lent Christian movies to the public. He and his wife Annelie Rudlaff started "The Wayhouse Christian Film Library" in 2001 by loaning out Christian books and VHS movies in Buena Vista, Colorado out of their home and showing a few films to the public in their town's chamber of commerce building. They later moved to Roanoke, Virginia, where they re-opened in 2006.
