JL Bourg
Jeunesse Laïque de Bourg-en-Bresse, commonly known as JL Bourg or simply Bourg, is a basketball club based in Bourg-en-Bresse, France that plays in the Pro A. Their home arena is Ekinox, which has a capacity of 3,548 people. History In 2014, JL Bourg adopted its new home arena Ekinox which replaced the Salle des Sports. This year the team also promoted to the Pro A after it won the Pro B Playoffs. They relegated back after the 2014–15 season. In the 2019–20 season, Bourg was in the 5th place until the season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In the 2020–21 season, Bourg will make its European debut when it will play in the EuroCup. LNB Pro A
The LNB Pro A, currently known for sponsorship reasons as Betclic Élite, is the top-tier men's professional basketball league in France. The competition has existed since 1921. Since 1987, the Ligue Nationale de Basket has governed the league. The bottom two placed teams from each season are relegated to the second tier level Pro B. The winner of the play-offs of the Pro A is crowned the French national champion. Competition format All 16 Pro A League teams play each other twice during the regular season. At the end of the regular season, the top eight teams qualify for the playoffs. The two teams with the worst regular season records are relegated to the 2nd-tier Pro B. 2018–19 Pro A Season
The 2018–19 Pro A season, for sponsorships reasons the Jeep Élite, was the 97th season of the Pro A, the top basketball league in France organised by the Ligue Nationale de Basket (LNB). It was the second season with Jeep as main sponsor. The season started on 21 September 2018 with the regular season and ended on 25 June 2019 with the last game of the finals. LDLC ASVEL won its nineteenth French championship and its first one since 2016. In the finals, they defeated Monaco. Teams Promotion and relegation Hyères-Toulon and Boulazac Basket Dordogne were relegated after the 2017–18 season after the teams ended in the last two places. Garrett Timothy Sim (born July 10, 1990) is an American professional basketball player for Élan Béarnais Pau-Orthez for the French Pro A. College career Sim came to the University of Oregon from Sunset High School, where he posted 23 points and 9 assists per game as a senior. As a freshman at Oregon, he started 26 games and set his career high of 28 points against Utah. He had confidence issues as a sophomore and started five games. Joseph "Trey" Lewis III (born October 18, 1992) is an American professional basketball player for Mornar of the ABA League and the Montenegrin League. He played college basketball for Penn State, Cleveland State, and Louisville. Early life Lewis was a successful basketball player while at Garfield Heights in his hometown of Garfield Heights, Ohio, leading the team to three conference titles in his four years there.
