JExcel is a library (API) to read, write, display, and modify Excel files with .xls or .xlsx formats. API can be embedded with Java Swing and AWT. JExcel support is discontinued as of May 31, 2020. File Format
A file format is a standard way that information is encoded for storage in a computer file. It specifies how bits are used to encode information in a digital storage medium.
