JD Gravina
J. D. Gravina is an American college basketball coach and the coach of the Western Illinois women's basketball team. In his 9th season at the helm of Western Illinois Women's Basketball, Gravina has transformed the Leathernecks into one of the highest-powered offenses in the Summit League, and his teams have continued to rewrite the record book with his yearly success. In 2016–17, Gravina’s team recorded an unprecedented 26–7 record, the best in program history, along with the program’s first Summit League Regular Season Championship in 11 years as well as the first Summit League Tournament Championship and NCAA Tournament berth since 1995. Gravina’s program also featured arguably the biggest shot in program history, as Taylor Hanneman’s 3-pointer with 2.2 seconds to go sent the title game against IUPUI into overtime, where the Leathernecks went on to win 77–69. Summit League
The Summit League, or The Summit, is an NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletic conference with its membership mostly located in the Midwestern United States from Illinois on the East of the Mississippi River to the Dakotas and Nebraska on the West, with additional members in the Western United States, Western state of Colorado and the Southern United States, Southern state of Oklahoma. William Jewell College
William Jewell College is a private liberal arts college in Liberty, Missouri. It was founded in 1849 by members of the Missouri Baptist Convention and endowed with $10,000 by William Jewell. It was associated with the Missouri Baptist Convention for over 150 years until its separation in 2003 and is now an independent institution. Quincy Hawks
The Quincy Hawks are the athletic teams that represent Quincy University, located in Quincy, Illinois, in NCAA Division II intercollegiate sports. The Hawks compete as members of the West Division of the Great Lakes Valley Conference for all sports except men's volleyball, which is a member of the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association. The Western Illinois Leathernecks men's basketball team represents Western Illinois University of Macomb, Illinois, in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I men's college basketball competition. The school's team currently competes in The Summit League. Western Illinois' first men's basketball team was fielded in 1910–1911. The Leathernecks men's basketball program made the transition from Division II to Division I beginning in the 1981–82 season.
