J. C. Mack
James Charles "J.C." Mack (born August 10, 1988) is a professional footballer currently playing for New Zealand National League, National League side Napier City Rovers FC, Napier City Rovers. Mack also serves as captain of the United States Virgin Islands national soccer team, U.S. Virgin Islands. Career Youth and amateur Mack began playing for his local club NCSL Eagles where he won two Ohio state championships in 2003 and 2004. In 2004 Mack was spotted by ex U.S. national team goalkeeper Juergen Sommer. and left Ohio to play for Sommers' U-17 Indianapolis club Carmel United Cosmos. While playing under Sommer, Mack would win an Indiana state championship and forgo university to pursue professional football. Struggling to catch on in MLS with the Chicago Fire, the young striker would spend 2007 trialing abroad, garnering contract offers in Peru and Trinidad. The U.S. Virgin Islands national soccer team, nicknamed ''The Dashing Eagle'', is the national soccer team of the U.S. Virgin Islands and is controlled by the U.S. Virgin Islands Soccer Federation. History Though FIFA did not officially recognize the USVI team as affiliated until 1992, the Virgin Islands federation was founded in the 1970s by Trinidad native Robert T. Wills who helped build the base of the USVI Soccer Federation as it is known today. The team played its first official international match on March 21, 1998, in a victory against the British Virgin Islands. In May 2011, the USVI soccer federation chief, Frederick Hillaren, began ambitious changes in the team and appointed Keith Griffith, former coach and captain of the Barbados national team and former coach of Trinidad and Tobago powerhouse club team Joe Public F.C., as technical director.
