J. Anbazhagan
Jayaraman Anbazhagan (10 June 1958 – 10 June 2020) was an Indian politician and a 3 times MLA (2001, 2011 & 2016), a Member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from the Chepauk (State Assembly Constituency), Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni constituency in Chennai District from 2011 to 2020. As a representative of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam party, he was previously elected to the Theagaraya Nagar (State Assembly Constituency), Theagaraya Nagar Constituency in 2001 Tamil Nadu legislative assembly election, 2001 elections, and was also defeated in the year 2006 election. A Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) is a representative elected by the voters of an electoral district (constituency) to the legislature of State government in the Indian system of government. From each constituency, the people elect one representative who then becomes a member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA). Each state has between seven and nine MLAs for every Member of Parliament (MP) that it has in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of India's bicameral parliament. There are also members in three unicameral legislatures in Union Territories: the Delhi Legislative Assembly, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and the Puducherry Legislative Assembly.
