J.P.Dutta
Jyoti Prakash Dutta (born 3 October 1949) is an Indian Bollywood film producer, writer and director, best known for making patriotic action war films. Personal life Dutta is married to the Bollywood film actress Bindiya Goswami with whom he has two daughters Nidhi and Siddhi. Career Dutta produces his films under the banner of JP Films. He is known for directing many patriotic war films and films in the action genre. His films often have ensemble star casts. In 1998, he was awarded the 'National Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration' from President of India for his super hit film ''Border''. Some of the Bollywood Hindi films that he has written, produced and directed are Border'','' Refugee'','' LOC Kargil and Umrao Jaan''.'' He headed the feature film section jury for the National Film Awards (2010), according to sources in the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Border (1997 Film)
''Border'' is a 1997 Indian Hindi-language epic war film written, produced and directed by J. P. Dutta. Set during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, it is an adaptation of real life events that happened during the Battle of Longewala in 1971. The film stars an ensemble cast of Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Sunil Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Sudesh Berry, Puneet Issar and Kulbhushan Kharbanda. Tabu, Raakhee, Pooja Bhatt and Sharbani Mukherjee feature in supporting roles. ''Border'' was Dutta's dream project. He had begun working on the film's script in September 1995 and completed it by April 1996. The film was mostly shot in Bikaner, Rajasthan. Some parts were also filmed in Jodhpur. One of the film's songs, "Sandese Aate Hai", sung by Sonu Nigam and Roop Kumar Rathod, became one of the most popular Hindi songs. ''Umrao Jaan'' is a 2006 Indian Hindustani-language musical romantic drama film produced and directed by J. P. Dutta, based on the Urdu novel ''Umrao Jaan Ada'' and is about the famous courtesan of the title. ''Yateem'' is a 1988 Indian action romance drama film directed by J. P. Dutta. The movie stars Sunny Deol, Farha Naaz, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Danny Denzongpa and Amrish Puri. Plot Yateem revolves around a police officer Shiv Kumar Yadav (Kulbhushan Kharbanda), a widower, who adopts a bandit's son after killing the brigand in an encounter.
