J.-M. Paul Bauchet
Jean-Marie Paul Bauchet (Orléans, 1 May 1900 - after 1974 ) was a French Carmelite (of the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament), translator and Hebraist. Bauchet re-edited the Hebrew New Testament of Franz Delitzsch. After studying in France and Iraq, he moved to Jerusalem in 1941. In Jerusalem, he worked on translating Christian texts into Hebrew. He received his doctorate from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 1949. In 1974 he translated the entire New Testament into Hebrew. Works * various works in Hebrew; inc. The Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament ( la, Congregatio Sanctissimi Sacramenti), commonly known as the Sacramentinos is a Catholic Clerical Religious Congregation of Pontifical Right for men (priests, deacons, and brothers) founded by St. Pierre-Julien Eymard. Its members use the nominal letters S.S.S. which is the acronym of its official name in Latin, after their names. By their life and activities, they assist the Church in her efforts to form Christian communities whose center of life is the Eucharist. Franz Delitzsch
Franz Delitzsch (23 February 1813, in Leipzig – 4 March 1890, in Leipzig) was a German Lutheran theologian and Hebraist. Delitzsch wrote many commentaries on books of the Bible, Jewish antiquities, Biblical psychology, as well as a history of Jewish poetry, and works of Christian apologetics. Today, Delitzsch is best known for his translation of the New Testament into Hebrew (1877), and his series of commentaries on the Old Testament published with Carl Friedrich Keil. Delitzsch's son, Friedrich Delitzsch (1850–1922), was an influential Assyriologist and author of works on Assyrian language, literature, and history.
