J. Wells
Jon Wells (born 1983) is an American record producer, record executive, and rapper. He is a member of the Likwit Crew. Biography Wells was born and raised in Chicago but moved to California, then later to Atlanta, Georgia when he was young. He took the alias "J Roc" when he began rapping in local clubs. A high school friend introduced him to K-Boogs, Young and DJ7 with whom he later formed the group Rocswell, as well as a production company under the same name - Rocswell Entertainment. The group recorded its first album ''Chilahyork'' in 1997 which sold 5,000 copies. A second album, ''Tha Classiks'', was released in 1999 and sold 8,000 copies. In 2000 Wells began producing a Dallas-based hip hop group called Virus and they briefly signed with Warner Brothers in 2001, before being dropped from the label. Roger McBride (born December 14, 1968), better known by his stage name King T (formerly known as King Tee), is an American West Coast Hip hop rapper from Compton, California. Emerging as one of Compton's earliest hip hop artists, he was signed to Capitol Records, where he released his debut album '' Act a Fool'' in 1988 with the hit singles "Act a Fool," "Payback's A Mutha," "The Coolest," and "Bass” emix all of which were considered hip-hop classics. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, he worked primarily with producer DJ Pooh, and was responsible for the rise of Tha Alkaholiks, whom he helped guide into the rap game. Lootpack
Lootpack is an American hip hop group signed to Stones Throw Records with members Madlib, Wildchild, and DJ Romes. They made their first appearance on the 1993 debut album by Tha Alkaholiks, '' 21 & Over''. The first vinyl by Lootpack, ''Ill Psych Move EP'', was released in 1996 on a label named Crate Digga's Palace founded by Madlib's father, Otis Jackson Sr. After this 12" they caught the attention of Stones Throw founder Peanut Butter Wolf, producer and DJ. Eventually the three of them signed for Stones Throw leading to their 1999 release of '' Soundpieces: Da Antidote''. A follow-up has not been released, but all three of them have collaborated on other projects and recorded solo records. Rico Smith (born August 9, 1971), better known by his stage name Tash, is an American rapper. He is most known for his work as a member of the West Coast hip hop group, Tha Alkaholiks alongside J-Ro and E-Swift. Tash has released two solo albums, '' Rap Life'' (1999) and Control Freek (2009), and has worked on five albums with Tha Alkaholiks. Tha Alkaholiks, also known as Tha Liks, is an American hip hop trio from Los Angeles, California, United States. Since the early 1990s they have produced party music with a hardcore hip hop edge, powered by the beats of DJ and producer E-Swift (born Eric Brooks in Columbus, Georgia, raised in Toledo, Ohio) and the rhymes of J-Ro (born James Robinson in Los Angeles) and Tash (born Rico Smith in Cincinnati). Likwit Crew
The Likwit Crew is a West Coast hip hop collective. It was founded by King T who recruited Tha Alkaholiks as his first acts. Then, other artists such as Xzibit, Phil Da Agony, Lootpack, Defari, Styliztik Jones, Declaime, J. Wells and The Barbershop MC's joined. Rapper
