Iwan Griffiths
Iwan Griffiths is drummer for Welsh rock band The Automatic. Iwan originates from Cowbridge in Wales, and lives in Cardiff. He has a law degree from Cardiff University. Musical career Along with bandmates Rob and Frost he was in the lineup of the band's original format when they were known as ''White Rabbit'', later changing their name to The Automatic, an idea of Iwan's, and recruiting screaming synth player Alex Pennie, and later guitarist Paul Mullen. In an interview with Rhythm Magazine, Iwan explained that one of his influences at the time was Dominic Howard from the band Muse. Other influences on his drumming include John Bonham, Phil Collins, Stewart Copeland, and Bill Bruford. Iwan has used a combination of acoustic and electric drums in both studios and live performances. ''Not Accepted Anywhere'' is the debut album from Welsh rock band The Automatic, originally released on 19 June 2006. Working with producers Stephen Harris, Richard Jackson and Ian Broudie on different tracks at a variety of studios around the United Kingdom the album was released through a joint deal between B-Unique Records and Polydor Records. The album spawned three singles, all of which charted in the UK top 40; " Recover" - which was originally released in 2005, then again in 2006, " Raoul" in 2006 and again in 2007, and " Monster" in 2006. ''Not Accepted Anywhere'' charted at No. 3 in the UK top 40, being awarded platinum certification in music sales. The BBC named it amongst the top 10 greatest Welsh albums of the 2000s (decade). Drum Workshop, Inc. (also known as DW Drums or DW) is an American drum kit and hardware manufacturing company based in Oxnard, California. Current products by DW include drum sets, snare drums, and hardware. History Drum Workshop was founded in 1972 as a teaching studio by Don Lombardi. Alongside student John Good, Lombardi began a small drum equipment sales operation to cover the studio's operation costs.
