Ivar Braut
Ivar Braut (born 1956) is a Norwegian theologian and priest. He was the Bishop of the Diocese of Stavanger from 2017-2019. He is considered to be a conservative bishop, a contrast to his predecessor. Personal life Ivar Braut was born on 28 February 1956 in Sandnes, Norway. He is married to Turid Bakke and together they have three grown children and six grandchildren. Education and career He received his Cand.theol. degree from the MF Norwegian School of Theology. He was ordained on 21 June 1981 at Gand Church by the Bishop Sigurd Lunde. His first job was the vicar of Søndre Skøyen in Oslo. From 1982 to 1987, he was a chaplain at Fossum Church in Oslo. Then in 1988, he moved to Grimstad to teach theology at the Grimstad Bible School. The Diocese of Stavanger ( no, Stavanger bispedømme) is a diocese in the Church of Norway. It covers all of Rogaland county in western Norway. Erling Johan Pettersen (born 1950) is a Norwegian theologian, priest, and since 2016, a Bishop Emeritus of the Church of Norway. Pettersen served as the Bishop of the Diocese of Stavanger in Stavanger, Norway from 2009 until his retirement in 2016. Biography Erling Pettersen was born on 21 February 1950 in the city of Bergen in Hordaland county, Norway. He is a 1977 graduate of the MF Norwegian School of Theology in Oslo, Norway. Birkeland Church
Birkeland Church ( no, Birkeland kirke or ) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Bergen Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the Nesttun neighborhood of Fana in the city of Bergen. It is the church for the Birkeland parish which is part of the Fana prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. Stord is a municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Sunnhordland. Stord is sometimes called "Norway in miniature" since it has such a variety of landscapes: coastline, fjords, forests, agricultural land, and mountain areas. Ilen Church ( no, Ilen kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Trondheim municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the Ila area in the city of Trondheim, on the wide isthmus between the river Nid and the Trondheimsfjord.
