Ivan Nikčević
Ivan Nikčević (; born 11 February 1981) is a Serbian handball player for Spanish club Benidorm. Club career Over the course of his career that spanned more than two decades, Nikčević played for Crvena zvezda (1998–2005), Altea (2005–2007), Almería (2007–2008), Portland San Antonio (2008–2010), Granollers (2010–2011), Valladolid (2011–2012), Wisła Płock (2012–2016) and Sporting CP (2016–2020). He helped the Portuguese club win the EHF Challenge Cup in the 2016–17 season. International career A Serbia international since its inception, Nikčević made his major debut for the national team at the 2009 World Men's Handball Championship. He was also a member of the team that won the silver medal at the 2012 European Men's Handball Championship. After serving as team captain at the 2016 European Men's Handball Championship, Nikčević retired from the national team. Nikšić
Nikšić ( cnr, Никшић, italic=no, sr-cyrl, Никшић, italic=no; ), is the second largest city in Montenegro, with a total population of 56,970 located in the west of the country, in the centre of the spacious Nikšić field at the foot of Trebjesa Hill. 2012 European Men's Handball Championship
The 2012 EHF European Men's Handball Championship was the tenth edition of the men's continental handball tournament, which was held in Serbia between 15 and 29 January 2012. Sixteen teams qualified for the event, including host nation Serbia, defending champion France and fourteen national teams through the qualifying tournament. The teams were split into four groups of 4, with the top 3 teams of each group advancing to the main round, carrying the points won against other qualified opponents. The 2016–17 Andebol 1 is the 65th season of the Andebol 1, Portugal's top-tier handball league. A total of fourteen teams contest this season's league, which is an increase of two teams from last season. The season began on 3 September 2016 and ended on 18 June 2017. ABC were the defending champions, but failed to revalidate the title, as Sporting CP won this season's league, achieving its 20th league title. Format The competition format for the 2016–17 season consists of two phases, both played in a home-and-away double round-robin system. The 2016 EHF European Men's Handball Championship was the twelfth edition and was held for the first time in Poland from 15–31 January 2016. Croatia and Norway were the other applicants in the bidding process. Poland was awarded the championship on the EHF Congress in Monaco on 23 June 2012 with 58% votes.
