Itri
The Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI; ) is a technology research and development institution in Taiwan. Founded in 1973, ITRI has contributed to moving Taiwan's industries from labor-intensive to innovation-driven. ITRI is headquartered in Hsinchu City, Taiwan, with branch offices in the U.S., Europe, and Japan. ITRI's open lab and incubator have fostered emerging industries and startups including UMC and TSMC. In 1982, the new Materials Research Laboratories (MRL) was established under ITRI and Otto C.C. Lin was appointed as its Founding Director. Recently, ITRI launched the 2030 Technology Strategy & Roadmap, which focuses on Intelligentization Enabling Technologies in the Smart Living, Quality Health, and Sustainable Environment spaces. Edwin Liu
Edwin Liu () is the current president of Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI). He was previously the Senior Vice President of Smart Grid & Grid Management at Nexant, Inc. He also held various technical and management positions at Quanta Technology, Bechtel, PG&E, Siemens, and Control Data Corporation (CDC). Edwin Liu is an IEEE Fellow and once served as Chairman of its Computer and Analytical Methods Subcommittee. Chih-Kung Lee
Chih-Kung Lee (C.K. Lee; ; born October 1959 in Taipei) is a Taiwanese mechanical engineer. He received his B.S. degree in civil engineering from National Taiwan University and then obtained his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Cornell University, majoring in theoretical & applied mechanics, with a minor in physics. He is known as the inventor of modal sensors and actuators. In the past, he has been an advisor to the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Economic Affairs and various other governmental agencies, as well as the director general of engineering & applied sciences at Taiwan's National Science Council (NSC). Currently, he is the chairman of Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and Institute for Information Industry (III).
