Background Discussing the song, Cardle said: "When I started writing the track with Paul, we immediately started to feel a bit of an '80s vibe, so we just ran with it! Big vocals, big drums… it was great fun to write." Explaining the lyrical content, Cardle says the song is about not leaning too heavily on the ideals of romance, "I fell in love and it didn't quite work out and how I was feeling at the time that's how I was putting it across in the song, that sometimes it's not the be all and end all." Indie Pop
Indie pop (also typeset as indie-pop or indiepop) is a music genre and subculture that combines guitar pop with DIY ethic in opposition to the style and tone of mainstream pop music. It originated from British post-punk in the late 1970s and subsequently generated a thriving fanzine, Independent record label, label, and club and gig circuit. Compared to its counterpart, indie rock, the genre is more melodic, less abrasive, and relatively angst-free. In later years, the definition of ''indie pop'' has bifurcated to also mean bands from unrelated DIY scenes/movements with pop leanings. Subgenres include chamber pop and twee pop. Development and characteristics Origins and etymology Both ''indie'' and ''indie pop'' had originally referred to the same thing during the late 1970s. Inspired more by punk rock's DIY ethos than its style, guitar bands were formed on the then-novel premise that one could record and release their own music instead of having to procure a record contra ...

Amazing (Matt Cardle Song)
"Amazing" is a song by British singer-songwriter Matt Cardle, released as the third single from his debut studio album, ''Letters'', on 19 February 2012. The song was co-written by Tom Leonard, Martin Harrington, Ash Howes, Richard Stannard and Cardle himself. The single was backed with an all-new track, "All Is Said", as well as a live version of "Slowly", and a studio version of his cover of "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face". Critical reception Robert Copsey of ''Digital Spy'' gave the song a positive review, stating: "Co-written by the man himself and produced by Richard Stannard – Ellie Goulding, Will Young – 'Amazing' will do little to deter his detractors who claim he is nothing more than mushy MOR guitar-pop, but it should easily please his larger-than-you'd-think fanbase. Yes, it's another Keane-esque guitar-strumming number, the lyrics are clichéd – "Look inside this fragile heart of mine" – and he belts out his trademark ad-libs at the end, but – whisper ...

Anyone Else (Matt Cardle Song)
"Anyone Else" is a song by British singer-songwriter Matt Cardle, co-written by Cardle with Jeff Halatrax. It was released as the second single from his second studio album, '' The Fire'', on 31 December 2012. For the radio version the vocals were reworked slightly, with extra backing vocals added on the last chorus, however this version was not made available to buy. With limited national radio support and no release separate from the album digital download, which was already available, it is perhaps unsurprising that the song did not chart. Background Cardle wrote the song in Los Angeles and it was recorded at Canvas Studios in London and Studio 217 in Los Angeles. Cardle says the song is about "not being able to make up my mind whether I want to sleep around or not!" and "To be with that one person that really means something to you." He says it the poppiest track on the album and describes it as "hooky, it's funky, it's a little more colourful". A music video to accomp ...
