''It's Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown'' is the 36th prime-time animated television special based on the comic strip ''Peanuts'' by Charles M. Schulz. It originally aired on CBS on November 27, 1992. The program is composed of various storylines from the comic strip. It was the first Christmas-themed ''Peanuts'' special since the inaugural ''A Charlie Brown Christmas'' in 1965, though an episode of ''The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show'' featured a new Christmas vignette in 1985. The animation for the special was done by Wang Film Productions in Taiwan, making it the only ''Peanuts'' special to be animated by an overseas studio rather than Bill Melendez Productions. Franklin (Peanuts)
Franklin is a fictional character in the comic strip ''Peanuts'', created by Charles M. Schulz. Introduced on July 31, 1968, Franklin was the first African American character in the strip. He goes to school with Peppermint Patty and Marcie. In his first story arc, he met Charlie Brown when they were both at the beach. Franklin's father was a soldier fighting in Vietnam, to which Charlie Brown replied "My dad's a barber... he was in a war too, but I don't know which one." Melendez Films (formerly Bill Melendez Productions and Melendez Features, Inc.) is a film animation studio. It was founded in 1962 by Steven C. Melendez, the son of ''Peanuts'' animator Bill Melendez. The studio produced the ambitious animated feature film '' Dick Deadeye'', based on the operettas of Gilbert and Sullivan.
