It's All In Your Head FM
''It's All In Your Head FM v1.0'' is a 2006 album by the sound collage band Negativland. It was compiled from a series of live recordings made by the band in California (San Francisco and Los Angeles) in October 2005. The material performed by the band is largely culled from an 11-part series of radio shows done by Negativland member Don Joyce on his weekly radio show Over the Edge, broadcast on the Berkeley, California radio station KPFA. The series was also called "It's All In Your Head", and its theme was to propose, and provide evidence for, the case that there is no God. The live performance continues in that vein, with many samples of people discussing the various facets of Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and other major religions, and the role of religion in society. Seeland Records
Seeland Records is an independent record label created by Negativland in 1979 to release their own recordings. It is a reference to the song "Seeland" by the band Neu!, who also gave Negativland the basis for their name, Sea-Land Corporation, a freight company, (the label's logo is a parody of the company's logo) and the micro-nation of Sealand, which in early history was home to radio pirates. History Seeland largely disappeared when Negativland signed with SST Records for a time during the late 1980s and early 1990s. But after an acrimonious split with that label, Negativland revived Seeland and began releasing new recordings, not just by themselves but also by other artists (the Evolution Control Committee and John Oswald to name two) who usually shared their philosophies regarding fair use. ''It's All in Your Head'' is the twelfth studio album by experimental band Negativland, which was released on October 13, 2014. The album is based on the live album, '' It's All in Your Head FM''. Like the live album, it deals with humans and certain types of religions humans believe in. Packaging The album was packaged in an actual copy of the King James Bible, with two CD envelopes, a printed insert, and two stickers applied to the outside over: One of a hybrid religious symbol combining the Christian cross, the Jewish Star of David, and the Islamic star and crescent within the outline of a human head on the front cover, and a Negativland logo sticker on the back cover. Each copy was hand assembled by the members of the band; the video trailer for the album on the band's Vimeo channel contains footage of the band members assembling the package. KPFA (94.1 FM) is an American listener-funded talk radio and music radio station located in Berkeley, California, broadcasting to the San Francisco Bay Area.
