Isle Of Palms Connector Bridge
The Isle of Palms Connector Bridge connects the town of Mount Pleasant with the Isle of Palms in South Carolina. The bridge is part of, and comprises most of the length of, South Carolina Highway 517, which is commonly known as the "Isle of Palms Connector", and bears the official name of "Clyde Moultrie Dangerfield Highway". It connects US 17 in Mount Pleasant, SC with South Carolina Highway 703 on the Isle of Palms. It was designed by a joint venture between LPA and Grenier and built by Massman Construction Company. The connector is the site of the annual "Isle of Palms Connector Run and Walk for the Child," a combined 10k run and 5k run/walk. South Carolina Highway 517 (SC 517, also known as Isle of Palms (IOP) Connector or Clyde Moultrie Dangerfield Highway) is a state highway in the eastern part of the Charleston, South Carolina metropolitan area. It exists completely within Charleston County, in the southeastern part of the U.S. state of South Carolina. South Carolina Highway 703 (SC 703) is a state highway in the U.S. state of South Carolina. The highway connects Mount Pleasant and Isle of Palms, via Sullivan's Island. Route description SC 703 begins at a partial interchange with U.S. Route 17 (US 17; Johnnie Dodds Boulevard) in Mount Pleasant, within Charleston County. This interchange is on the eastern end of the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge and just south of the Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park.
