People's Progressive Party (Nepal)
The People's Progressive Party ( ne, जनता प्रगतिशील पार्टी) is a political party in Nepal. Although the party's primary base is still in Terai Madhesh area of Madhesh Province and Lumbini Province, it has tried to expand to a pan-Nepalese base. The party was officially announced on 14 December 2021. Hridayesh Tripathi is the coordinator of the party. History 2017 elections As of August 2021, the party members had filled their candidacy as an Independent political group in the 2017 Nepalese general election. Hridayesh Tripathi ( ne, हृदयेश त्रिपाठी) is a Nepalese politician, belonging to the People's Progressive Party. He's also the current chairman of the party. A former Minister of Health and Population Tripathi has worked several terms as minister under the government of Nepali Congress and CPN (UML). Early life and education Tripathi was born in Nawalparasi to Harishankar Triphati and Kunti Devi. Baburam Bhattarai ( ne, बाबुराम भट्टराई, ; born 18 June 1954), also known by his nom de guerre Laaldhwoj, is a Nepalese politician and former Prime Minister, who presently serves as leader of the Nepal Socialist Party. Ram Baran Yadav ( mai, डा. राम वरण यादव) is a Nepali politician and physician who served as the first president of Nepal from 23 July 2008 to 29 October 2015, following the declaration of a republic in 2008. Previously he served as Minister of Health from 1999 to 2001 and general secretary of the Nepali Congress. Political life Yadav served as Minister of State for Health from 1991 to 1994. Kapilvastu (also known by name of Taulihawa) is a municipality and administrative center of Kapilvastu District in Lumbini Province of southern Nepal. The municipality is located roughly to the south-west of Lumbini, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the birthplace of Gautama Buddha.
