Isabel Martínez de Perón (, born María Estela Martínez Cartas, 4 February 1931), also known as Isabelita, is an Argentine politician who served as President of Argentina from 1974 to 1976. She was one of the first female republican heads of state in the world, and the first woman to serve as president of a country. Isabel Perón was the third wife of President Juan Perón. During her husband's third term as president from 1973 to 1974, she served as both Vice President and First Lady of Argentina. Following her husband's death in office in 1974, she served as President for almost two years before the military took over the government with the 1976 coup. Diophantus is a Lunar craters, lunar impact crater that lies in the southwestern part of the Mare Imbrium. It was named after ancient Greek mathematician Diophantus. It forms a pair with the larger crater Delisle (crater), Delisle to the north. Diophantus has a wide inner wall and a low central rise. To the north of Diophantus is the sinuous rille designated Rima Diophantus, named after the crater. Diophantus C lies near the exterior of the southwest wall. USS ''Falcon'' was a gunboat in the United States Navy. ''Falcon'' was captured as the Mexican gunboat ''Isabel'' on November 14, 1846 at Tampico, and taken into the Navy. Mexican–American War operations Operating throughout the remainder of the Mexican–American War with the Home Squadron in the Gulf of Mexico, ''Falcon'' took part in the amphibious operation at Vera Cruz from March 9–25, 1847. A force of over 10,000 troops was landed to attack the city and its guardian castle of San Juan de Ulúa, and while the squadron fired upon the seaward fortifications, a naval battery of six heavy guns was landed to aid the troops. The garrison displayed a flag of truce on the 25th when the city walls were breached, and four days later American troops took possession of the city and the castle. USS ''Isabel'' (SP-521), later PY-10, was a yacht in commission in the United States Navy as a destroyer from 1917 to 1920 and as a patrol yacht from 1921 to 1946. Construction, acquisition, and commissioning ''Isabel'' was built as a private yacht in 1917 by Bath Iron Works, Bath, Maine for automobile manufacturer John North Willys of Toledo, Ohio. Willys had intended for the yacht to have qualities that would make her desirable for use by the U.S. Navy, and had contacted the Navy about the possibility of selling her into naval service. The Navy initially was uninterested. However, after the United States entered World War I on 6 April 1917, the Navy decided to buy ''Isabel'', which it viewed as being not only highly suitable for use as a patrol vessel but also having characteristics similar to those of a destroyer. ''Isabel'' was a vessel intended to be used in four planned expeditions in search of the fate of Franklin's lost expedition between 1852 and 1856, although she only managed to reach the Arctic once, in 1852. All of these expeditions were sponsored by Lady Jane Franklin who also owned the vessel over most of this period, and expended much money for little result. The ''Isabel'' was a nearly-new sailing vessel when Donald Beatson purchased her in 1851 for a proposed expedition to the Arctic via the Bering Straits. Lady Franklin became one of the major sponsors of the expedition, but lack of funds forced Beatson to withdraw from the project in April 1852. Lady Franklin became the ship's owner and, it being too late to reach the Bering Straits in time for the following summer, arranged for the vessel to make a brief sortie to the coast of Greenland under Edward Inglefield, RN, with Thomas Abernethy as his ice master, later that year. Port Isabel is a city in Cameron County, Texas, United States. It is part of the Brownsville–Harlingen–Raymondville and the Matamoros–Brownsville metropolitan areas. The population was 5,006 at the 2010 census. The city's name is given to the Port Isabel Detention Center, to the northwest next to the Port Isabel-Cameron County Airport. History Established as a town after the Mexican War of Independence, Port Isabel became an important cotton-exporting port before the American Civil War. The harbor, town and lighthouse all were fought over and exchanged hands during the Civil War. In September 1967, Hurricane Beulah caused extensive damage to much of the city.
