Iron Pipe Scandal
The iron pipe scandal (Swedish: ''järnrörsskandalen'') was a political scandal in Sweden involving individuals related to the Sweden Democrats (Swedish: ''Sverigedemokraterna'', SD). It occurred in 2010 but was only brought to mainstream public attention in 2012. The events Erik Almqvist, Kent Ekeroth and Christian Westling, all high-ranking members of the Sweden Democrats (the first two were members of parliament when the incident was uncovered, Ekeroth as their candidate as Attorney General), had been involved in a verbal altercation with comedian Soran Ismail. Footage from the incident, captured by Ekeroth, shows that Erik Almqvist had told Ismail, who is of Kurdish descent, that he "acts like a wog", argues "like a little pussy" and that Sweden is "my country, not yours". Swedish Language
Swedish ( ) is a North Germanic language spoken predominantly in Sweden and in parts of Finland. It has at least 10 million native speakers, the fourth most spoken Germanic language and the first among any other of its type in the Nordic countries overall. Soran Ismail
Soran Ismail (born December 3, 1987 in Iran), is a Swedish Kurdish comedian, TV personality and author of Kurdish descent who as an immigrant grew up in Knivsta, Uppsala County and lived most of his life in Sweden. He is well known for his participation in several TV and radio shows with a humour profile and has toured Sweden together with Magnus Betnér with a show called ''En skam för Sverige'' (''A Shame for Sweden''). His various television projects include the documentary ''Absolut svensk'' (''Absolutely Swedish'') where he examines ethnic identity and every day racism in Sweden. This is also the title of his book released in 2017 (''Absolut svensk : en ID-handling''). Cherry Picking
Cherry picking, suppressing evidence, or the fallacy of incomplete evidence is the act of pointing to individual cases or data that seem to confirm a particular position while ignoring a significant portion of related and similar cases or data that may contradict that position. Cherry picking may be committed intentionally or unintentionally. The term is based on the perceived process of harvesting fruit, such as cherries. The picker would be expected to select only the ripest and healthiest fruits. An observer who sees only the selected fruit may thus wrongly conclude that most, or even all, of the tree's fruit is in a likewise good condition. This can also give a false impression of the quality of the fruit (since it is only a sample and is not a representative sample). ''Expressen'' (''The Express'') is one of two nationwide evening newspapers in Sweden, the other being '' Aftonbladet''. ''Expressen'' was founded in 1944; its symbol is a wasp and its slogans are "it stings" or "''Expressen'' to your rescue". Overview The first edition of ''Expressen'' was published on 16 November 1944. A main feature that day was an interview with the crew members of a British bomber who were successful in sinking the German ship ''Tirpitz''. Kent Ekeroth
Kent Alexander Ekeroth (born 11 September 1981) is a Swedish politician and economist, who represented the Sweden Democrats. Early life Ekeroth was born in Malmö to a Jewish mother, Janina Kazarina, originally from Kazakhstan in Central Asia (which was then part of the Soviet Union), who arrived as a refugee from Poland to Sweden in the 1970s, together with her mother, Ekeroth's grandmother and sisters. He is of Jewish descent, with an atheistic life stance. Ekeroth studied economics at Lund University.
