''Ikari Warriors'', known as in Japan, is a vertically-scrolling, run-and-gun shooter arcade video game released by SNK in 1986. It was published in North America by Tradewest. The game was released at the time when there were many ''Commando'' clones on the market. What distinguished ''Ikari Warriors'' were rotary joysticks and a two-player cooperative mode. The rotary joystick controls were in turn based on SNK's earlier ''TNK III'' (1985). ''Ikari'' was originally intended it to be an official licensed adaptation of the film '' Rambo: First Blood Part II'' (1985), but SNK were initially unable to acquire the rights to the film. Originally released for arcades in 1987 as a coin-operated arcade game, ''Guerrilla War'' was later ported to Amstrad CPC, Apple II, Commodore 64, NES, PlayStation Network, and ZX Spectrum. Plot Guerrilla War followed the adventures of two unnamed rebel commandos (Che Guevara and Fidel Castro in the Japanese version) as they raid an unnamed Caribbean Island in order to free it from the rule of an unnamed tyrannical dictator. Along the way the players vanquish hordes of enemy soldiers while attempting to rescue hostages (with large score reductions for any hostages killed in the crossfire), collecting weapons from troopers and operating tanks. is a video game character created by SNK. Ralf has made appearance in several games from the company, premiering in ''TNK III'' as a military tank driver. The ''Ikari Warriors'' series also emphasized Ralf's role as a soldier with him becoming the partner of Clark Still. Both Ralf and Clark would also become recurring characters in ''The King of Fighters'' fighting games series in which they appear as part of the Ikari Team participating in various tournaments also while searching for various criminals. Additionally, Ralf and Clark have appeared in few games from the ''Metal Slug'' series, also developed by SNK. ''T.A.N.K.'' is a shoot 'em up arcade game developed and released by SNK in 1985, and released in North America as ''TNK III'' by Kitcorp. Versions of ''T.A.N.K.'' for home computers were released by Ocean Software for the ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, and Amstrad CPC in 1987. A sequel was also released for the Nintendo Entertainment System titled ''Iron Tank''.
