Iron Circus Comics
Iron Circus Comics is an American graphic novel publisher founded in 2007 by C. Spike Trotman. Based in Chicago, it is known for publishing the ''Smut Peddler'' line of "lady-centric porn" anthologies and graphic novels, and for its pioneering use of crowd-funding sites such as Kickstarter to finance graphic novel publishing, raising over $1 million in revenue through the platform in its first decade. Melanie Gillman is an American queer Genderqueer, non-binary cartoonist, illustrator, and lecturer, specializing in LGBT comics, LGBTQ comics for Young Adult fiction, Young Adult readers, including the webcomic ''As the Crow Flies.'' Their comics have been published by Boom! Studios, Iron Circus Comics, Lion Forge Comics, Slate (magazine), Slate, Vice Media, VICE, Prism Comics, Northwest Press, and The Nib. ''Lackadaisy'' (also known as ''Lackadaisy Cats'') is a webcomic created by American artist Tracy J. Butler. Set in a Prohibition-era 1927 St. Louis with a population of anthropomorphic cats, the plot chronicles the fortunes of the Lackadaisy speakeasy after its founder is murdered. The comic mixes elements of comedy, crime and mystery. It won multiple Web Cartoonists' Choice Awards in 2007 and 2008, and in April 2011 was nominated for the Eisner Award for " Best Digital Comic". ''Lackadaisy'' is an American independent animated period crime-heist short film based on the webcomic ''Lackadaisy'' by Tracy Butler. Image Comics is an American comic book publisher and is the third largest comic book and graphic novel publisher in the industry in both unit and market share. Evan Dahm
Evan Dahm (born 1987) is an American webcartoonist from Asheville, North Carolina known for creating the Overside universe of webcomics. Dahm started creating the surrealistic webcomic ''Rice Boy'' in 2006, which follows the titular Rice Boy as he travels through Dahm's constructed world. Once ''Rice Boy'' was completed in 2008, Dahm followed it up with ''Order of Tales'', a more traditional high fantasy adventure. ''Wondermark'' is a webcomic created by David Malki which was syndicated to ''Flak Magazine'' and appeared in ''The Onion'' print edition from 2006 to 2008. It features 19th-century illustrations that have been recontextualized to create humorous juxtapositions. It takes the horizontal four-panel shape of a newspaper strip, although the number of panels varies from one to six or more. It is updated intermittently, with the frequency of updates declining from multiple strips a month for many years, to fewer than one a month since mid-2021. ''Templar Arizona'' is a webcomic written and drawn by Spike Trotman, Charlie Spike Trotman. It was hosted on Webcomics Nation. Trotman describes ''Templar, Arizona'' as "a story about a town, and the people who live there", specifically referring to the city of Templar as a character rather than a setting. The neologism "culture fiction" was coined to describe it. The fictional city of Templar exists in a subtly different parallel universe (fiction), alternate universe. Trotman describes it as "a slightly irregular Arizona that fell off the back of a truck somewhere, and now all the power outlets are a weird shape and a couple of wars never happened".
