Iran Men's National Ice Hockey Team
The Iran national ice hockey team ( fa, تیم ملی هاکی روی یخ ایران) is the national men's ice hockey team of Iran. The team was founded in June 2016, is controlled by the Islamic Republic of Iran Skating Federation, and on 26 September 2019, became an associate member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). Iran made its debut in the IIHF World Championship in 2022. As of 2022, Iran is ranked 56th in the IIHF World Ranking. History Ice hockey in Iran Back in the 1970s, ice hockey was played as a recreation sport by the general public at the "Ice Palace" ( fa, قصر یخ) which was located in Pahlavi Street before Vanak Square, there was also another ice rink located in Aryamehr Sport Complex which was only used for ice skating. White Lion
The white lion is a rare color mutation of the lion, specifically the Southern African lion. White lions in the area of Timbavati are thought to have been indigenous to the Timbavati region of South Africa for centuries, although the earliest recorded sighting in this region was in 1938. White lions first became known to the English-speaking world in 1977 through the book ''The White Lions of Timbavati''. Description White lions are not albinos. Their white color is caused by a recessive trait, called leucism, derived from a less-severe mutation in the same gene that causes albinism, similar to the gene responsible for white tigers. The Iranian Revolution ( fa, انقلاب ایران, Enqelâb-e Irân, ), also known as the Islamic Revolution ( fa, انقلاب اسلامی, Enqelâb-e Eslâmī), was a series of events that culminated in the overthrow of the Pahlavi dynasty under Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, and the replacement of his government with an Islamic republic under the rule of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, a leader of one of the factions in the revolt. Mashhad ( fa, مشهد, Mašhad ), also spelled Mashad, is the List of Iranian cities by population, second-most-populous city in Iran, located in the relatively remote north-east of the country about from Tehran. It serves as the capital of Razavi Khorasan Province and has a population of 3,001,184 (2016 census), which includes the areas of Mashhad Taman and Torqabeh. Mark Ardelan
Mark Ardelan (born March 16, 1983) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. He played most notably in the American Hockey League (AHL) and the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). Playing career Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Ardelan began playing ice hockey at five years old. He began his junior career in 1999 at the age of 16 with the Brandon Wheat Kings in the Western Hockey League WHL. After two years he moved to the Vancouver Giants, where he was the point of best defenders. The Turkish men's national ice hockey team is the national ice hockey team of Turkey, and is controlled by the Turkish Ice Hockey Federation ( tr, Türkiye Buz Hokeyi Federasyonu, TBHF), a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation. It is currently ranked 42nd in the IIHF World Ranking. Oman Men's National Ice Hockey Team
The Omani national ice hockey team ( ar, منتخب عمان لهوكي الجليد), nicknamed '' The Khanjars'' ( ar, الخنجر ''Al-Khanajar''), is the national ice hockey team of Oman. They are controlled by the Oman Ice Sports Committee and has been an associate member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). Oman is currently not ranked in the IIHF World Ranking and have not entered in any World Championship tournaments or at any Olympic Games, but have played in the Challenge Cup of Asia, a regional tournament for lower-tier hockey nations in Asia. United States Men's National Ice Hockey Team
The United States men's national ice hockey team is based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with its U18 and U17 development program in Plymouth, Michigan. The team is controlled by USA Hockey, the governing body for organized ice hockey in the United States. The U.S. team is currently ranked 4th in the IIHF World Rankings. The U.S. won gold medals at the 1960 and the 1980 Olympics and more recently, silver medals at the 2002 and 2010 Olympics. The NHL Entry Draft (french: Repêchage d'entrée dans la LNH) is an annual meeting in which every franchise of the National Hockey League (NHL) systematically select the rights to available ice hockey players who meet draft eligibility requirements (North American players 18–20 years old and European/international players 18–21 years old; all others enter the league as unrestricted free agents). Rhett Rakhshani
Rhett Thomas Rakhshani (born March 6, 1988) is an American former professional ice hockey player. He was selected by the New York Islanders in the fourth round (100th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. Rakhshani is of Iranian–German–Mexican–American descent. He announced his retirement on December 14, 2022, after his wife had been diagnosed with cancer. Playing career As a youth, Rakhshani played in the 2002 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with the California Wave minor ice hockey team.
