Iowa Senate, District 15
The 15th District of the Iowa Senate is located in southern Iowa, and is currently composed of Jasper and Polk Counties. Current elected officials Zach Nunn is the senator currently representing the 15th District. The area of the 15th District contains two Iowa House of Representatives districts: *The 29th District (represented by Wes Breckenridge) *The 30th District (represented by Brian Lohse) The district is also located in Iowa's 2nd congressional district, which is represented by U.S. Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks and Iowa's 3rd congressional district, which is represented by Cindy Axne. Iowa's 2nd Congressional District
Iowa's 2nd congressional district is a congressional district in the U.S. state of Iowa that covers most of its southeastern part. It includes Davenport, Iowa City, Muscatine, Clinton, Burlington, Ottumwa, Fort Madison, Oskaloosa, Bettendorf, Newton and Pella. The bulk of its vote is cast in Iowa City and the Iowa side of the Quad Cities. The district has been represented by Republican Mariannette Miller-Meeks since 2021. Dennis Black
Dennis H. Black (born December 18, 1939) is a former Democratic politician, from Lynnville Iowa. Black holds a bachelor's degree in forest management and a master's degree in natural resource economics from Utah State University. He was an author of The Resource Enhancement and Protection (REAP) Fund while chairing the House Natural Resources Committee in Iowa's 73rd General Assembly. Black's career includes work as a natural resource analyst and consultant, service as the director of the Jasper County Conservation Board from 1970 to 2005, and the author of numerous natural resource management publications. His civic involvement includes service on the Newton Community Schools Board of Education, Jasper County Soil and Water District Commission, Des Moines River Greenbelt Commission, the Iowa Capitol Planning Commission, Jasper Community Foundation, and Terrace Hill Commission. Robert Dvorsky
Robert E. Dvorsky (born August 18, 1948) is a former Iowa State Senator from the 37th District (previously numbered the 15th District and 25th District). A Democrat, he received his BS and MPA from the University of Iowa and is a retired executive officer for the 6th Judicial District, Department of Correctional Services. Betty A. Soukup (born February 3, 1947) is an American politician. Soukup was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia, on February 3, 1947. Arthur Gratias
Arthur L. Gratias (May 1, 1920 – March 6, 2015) was an American politician in the state of Iowa. Gratias was born in Nora Springs, Iowa. He attended Wartburg College and the University of Northern Iowa. He served in the United States Army during World War II, for which he received the Légion d'honneur in 2013. Gratias farmed for 23 years. His career in education included five years of teaching experience and four years as an elementary school principal. Gratias then served 22 years on the school board. Theodore Perry
Theodore Bolivar Perry (April 1, 1833 – May 14, 1921) was an American lawyer and politician who served in the Iowa State Senate and as prosecuting attorney of Monroe County, Iowa. Perry was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and, as an adolescent, moved with his family to Iowa. In early adulthood, he was a schoolteacher and, in 1852 began reading law in Albia, Iowa. In 1854 Perry was admitted to the Iowa Bar and went into practice with John S. Townsend. Perry became a successful attorney, was elected prosecuting attorney of Monroe County, Iowa, and also developed several commercial properties in Albia. He was elected to the Iowa State Board of Education in 1858, serving for four years. In 1877 he built a large "show residence" in Albia – an elaborate, High Victorian home that has since been listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Cindy Axne
Cynthia Lynne Axne (née Wadle; born April 20, 1965) is an American politician who is the U.S. representative from Iowa's 3rd congressional district since 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, she narrowly defeated incumbent Republican David Young in the 2018 elections. The district is anchored in the state capital Des Moines; it includes much of the state's southwest quadrant, including Council Bluffs. Iowa's 3rd congressional district is a congressional district in the U.S. state of Iowa that covers its southwestern quadrant, which roughly consists of an area stretching from Des Moines to the borders with Nebraska and Missouri. Mariannette Miller-Meeks
Mariannette Jane Miller-Meeks (born September 6, 1955) is an American physician and politician serving as the U.S. representative from Iowa's 2nd congressional district since 2021. A member of the Republican Party, Miller-Meeks served as Iowa state senator for the 41st district from 2019 to 2021. Her district includes most of Iowa's southeastern quadrant, including Davenport, Bettendorf, Burlington, Iowa City, and Miller-Meeks's hometown of Ottumwa.
