Iowa Falls Community School District
Iowa Falls Community School District is a rural public school district headquartered in Iowa Falls, Iowa. The district occupies sections of Hardin and Franklin counties. In 2006, parents in the northern portion of the Hubbard–Radcliffe Community School District preferred the idea of that district grade-sharing with Iowa Falls instead of the Eldora–New Providence Community School District. From the 2014–15 school year until the 2017–18 school year, the district had entered into a grade-sharing agreement with the Alden Community School District in which students of particular grade levels attend schools in another districts' schools. Initially it was a two-way sharing agreement, or one in that both districts sent students to each other's schools. Alden hosted the 6th grade for both districts. By 2017 there was a proposal to modify it so only Alden sends students to Iowa Falls, and not the other way around, for a period until the 2027–28 school year. That way 6th-graders ...

Iowa Falls is a city in Hardin County, Iowa, United States. Iowa Falls is the home of Ellsworth Community College. It is also a regional transportation center, located along U.S. Routes 20 and 65 and the Canadian National and Union Pacific Railroads. The population was 5,106 at the time of the 2020 census. A landmark in the city is its movie theater. Built as the Metropolitan Opera House in 1899, it presented plays, operas, and vaudeville in the town during the first half of the twentieth century, and today is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Iowa High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) is the regulating body for male Iowa high school interscholastic athletics and is a full member of the National Federation of State High School Associations. Its female counterpart, the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union, (IGHSAU) is an associate member. Iowa is the only state that maintains separate governing bodies for boys' and girls' athletics. In addition to Alden, it serves Buckeye and Popejoy. From the 2014–2015 school year until the 2017–2018 school year, the district had entered into a grade-sharing agreement with the Iowa Falls Community School District in which students of particular grade levels attend schools in another districts' schools. Hardin County is a county located in the U.S. state of Iowa. As of the 2020 census, the population was 16,878. The county seat is Eldora. The county was named in honor of Col. John J. Hardin, of Illinois, who was killed in the Mexican–American War. History Hardin County was formed in 1851. It was named after Colonel John J. Hardin, who died in the Mexican–American War. In its history the county has had three courthouses. The first was a small wood-framed building, which burned down in the 1850s. The second courthouse was a two-story building and stood on the site of the current office of the county sheriff.
