Investigations (Voyager Episode)
"Investigations" is the 36th episode of the American science fiction television series ''Star Trek: Voyager'' which aired on the UPN network. It is the 20th episode of the Star Trek: Voyager (season 2), second season. Set in the 24th century, the series follows the adventures of the United Federation of Planets, Federation starship ''USS Voyager (Star Trek), Voyager'' during its journey home to Earth, having been stranded tens of thousands of light-years away. The episode centers around the character Neelix, who while investigating for a report shared on his new daily broadcast to the crew, stumbles upon a traitor who is sending coded messages to the Kazon. A comic subplot involves Doctor (Star Trek: Voyager), the Doctor's attempts at getting his medical segments included in Neelix's daily broadcast. The episode aired on UPN on March 13, 1996. USS Voyager (Star Trek)
USS ''Voyager'' (NCC-74656) is the fictional ''Intrepid''-class starship which is the primary setting of the science fiction television series '' Star Trek: Voyager''. It is commanded by Captain Kathryn Janeway. ''Voyager'' was designed by ''Star Trek: Voyager'' production designer Richard D. James and illustrator Rick Sternbach. Most of the ship's on-screen appearances are computer-generated imagery (CGI), although models were also sometimes used. The ship's motto, as engraved on its dedication plaque, is a quote from the poem " Locksley Hall" by Alfred, Lord Tennyson: "For I dipt in to the future, far as human eye could see; Saw the vision of the world, and all the wonder that would be." A WikiProject, or Wikiproject, is a Wikimedia movement affinity group for contributors with shared goals. WikiProjects are prevalent within the largest wiki, Wikipedia, and exist to varying degrees within sister projects such as Wiktionary, Wikiquote, Wikidata, and Wikisource. They also exist in different languages, and translation of articles is a form of their collaboration. Cold Open
A cold open (also called a teaser sequence) is a narrative technique used in television and films. It is the practice of jumping directly into a story at the beginning of the show before the title sequence or opening credits are shown. In American television, this is often done on the theory that involving the audience in the plot as soon as possible will reduce the likelihood of their switching from a show during the opening commercial. A cold open may also be used to recap events in previous episodes or storylines that will be revisited during the current episode. The cold open technique is sometimes used in films. There, "cold opening" still refers to the opening moments or scenes, but not necessarily to the full duration before the title card, as the title card might appear well after the start. In the ''Star Trek'' science fiction franchise, the Maquis are a 24th-century paramilitary organization-terrorist group (like the World War II Maquis in the French Resistance and the Spanish Maquis that emerged in the Spanish Civil War). Chakotay
Chakotay is a fictional character who appears in each of the seven seasons of the American science fiction television series '' Star Trek: Voyager''. Portrayed by Robert Beltran, he was First Officer aboard the Starfleet starship USS ''Voyager'', and later promoted to Captain in command of the ''USS Protostar'' in '' Star Trek: Prodigy''. The character was suggested at an early stage of the development of the series. He is the first Native American main character in the ''Star Trek'' franchise. This was a deliberate move by the producers of the series, who sought to provide an inspiration as with Uhura in ''Star Trek: The Original Series'' for African Americans. Kathryn Janeway is a fictional character in the '' Star Trek'' franchise. Neelix () is a character in the science fiction television series '' Star Trek: Voyager'', played by actor Ethan Phillips since the series' inception. Neelix is an alien native to the distant far side of the galaxy, who has joined the crew of the United Federation of Planets starship USS ''Voyager'' as a cook, morale officer and later as ambassador after its being captured by a mysterious shock wave to the Delta Quadrant. Casting Neelix was played by actor Ethan Phillips. Phillips had a master's degree in fine arts from Cornell University, and had his start in acting performing on Broadway shows.
