Inventing Letters EP
The Inventing Letters EP is the first release by Vancouver, British Columbia band The Belle Game. It was released digitally on November 10, 2009. Physical copies were made available in January 2010, though only 300 of them were manufactured. Track listing Reception The Extended Play, EP has received numerous positive reviews from across Canada, especially blogs, and it has propelled the band far into the Canadian music scene since its release in 2009. The first track, entitled "Shoulders & Turns", was put into heavy rotation on the Vancouver radio station Shore 104, the Shore 104.3 FM in April 2010 until August 2010, when the fourth track, "Tiny Fires", was put into full rotation on the Shore as the band's second single. "Tiny Fires" is also currently played in light rotation on CBC National Radio. The Belle Game
The Belle Game, aka Belle Game, was an indie pop band originating from Vancouver, British Columbia and active from 2009 to 2020. Its members were Adam Nanji (guitar), Andrea Lo (lead vocals), and Katrina Jones (keyboards, vocals). Drummer Rob Chursinoff left in 2014; drummer and guitarist Alex Andrew left in 2018. For a short time, bassist Ian Cook and trumpeter Andrew Lee were also part of the band. The name is a play on the literal translation, from German, of Glockenspiel. History In the summer of 2009, Andrea Lo, Alex Andrew and Adam Nanji got together to play a single performance at Vancouver's Railway Club. Lo and Nanji had grown up together and played as a duo before; Nanji and Andrew were at McGill University together. Indie Rock
Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock". ''Sleep to Grow'' is the second release by Vancouver, British Columbia band The Belle Game, produced by David Carswell and John Collins. It was released digitally on October 1, 2011. Physical copies were made available later the same month. Track listing Reception Similar to their previous EP, ''Sleep to Grow'' received positive reviews soon after it was released, especially from blogs. In the spring of 2012, the Vancouver radio station known as CKPK-FM, the Peak 100.5 FM put the title track of the EP into heavy rotation. Both "Sleep to Grow" as well as the fourth track, "Pink Carnations" have been heard in light rotation on CBC Radio 3. In April 2011, The Belle Game entered the first single of the EP, "Sleep to Grow" into a radio competition held by CKPK-FM, the Peak 100.5 FM known as the Peak Performance Project, and the band subsequently made it into the top 20 artists chosen. CHLG-FM (104.3 MHz, ''104.3 The Breeze'') is a commercial FM radio station in Vancouver, British Columbia. Owned by Stingray Group, the station broadcasts a soft adult contemporary format. Its studios are located in Richmond, and its transmitter is on Mount Seymour. History The station was licensed as CHHR-FM by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) on May 30, 2008.
