Interstate 49 Business (Neosho, Missouri)
Four business routes of Interstate 49 (I-49) exist, all of them within the state of Missouri. All four were once business routes of U.S. Route 71 (US 71) and were converted to business routes of I-49 on December 12, 2012, when that highway was designated in Missouri. Neosho business loop Interstate 49 Business (I-49 Bus.) is a business route of I-49. It begins northwest of Neosho, Missouri, at I-49/ US 71 and Route 86 and ends south of the city at I-49/US 71 and Route AA. Part of the highway overlaps Route 86; another part overlaps Route 59. The road is a previous alignment of US 71, which was realigned west of Neosho as a freeway and was eventually upgraded to I-49. Route 571 is a two-lane highway in Carthage, Missouri, replacing a former section of U.S. Route 71 Alternate (US 71 Alt.) with the realignment of US 71. Both termini are at Interstate 49 (I-49) and US 71; its northern terminus is Business I-49 and Route 171 at the western edge of Carthage and its southern terminus is I-49/US 71 at the southern edge of Carthage. Route description Route 571 begins at a fork from the right-of-way of I-49 and US 71 (Trooper Charles P. Corbin Memorial Highway) southbound. The designation follows South Grand Avenue, a commercial strip into a roundabout with Airport Drive before continuing northwest as Fairlawn Avenue. Carterville, Missouri
Carterville is a city in Jasper County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,855 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Joplin, Missouri Metropolitan Statistical Area. History While one James Carter settled in Jasper County in 1841, the land on which Carterville was built was originally owned by his son, James George Leroy Carter, who created a farm in the 1860’s. The town considers itself founded in 1875, when a post office called Carterville opened that year. However, the settlement was not officially incorporated until 1882. Early Carterville was little more than a lead-mining camp, one of many in the tri-state mining district in southwestern Missouri, southeastern Kansas and northwestern Oklahoma. Route 175 is a short highway in Newton County running from Interstate 49/U.S. Route 71 at Tipton Ford to the city of Neosho at Business I-49 and Route 86. It is a former alignment of US 71, and the endpoints of Neosho and unincorporated Tipton Ford are the only cities on the route. Route description Route 175 begins at an intersection with I-49 Bus./ Route 86 northwest of Neosho, heading north on two-lane undivided Gateway Drive. The road passes through areas of fields and woods with some homes. The route continues through rural areas, making a curve to the northwest and coming to an interchange with I-49/US 71 in Tipton Ford. Webb City is a city in Jasper County, Missouri, United States. The population was 13,031 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Joplin, Missouri Metropolitan Statistical Area. Webb City also has a police department, a fire department, and animal control services. History Webb City (Webbville) was platted by John C. Webb in September 1875 and incorporated in December 1876, with a population of 700. The city was located on a portion of Webb's 200-acre farm, which he entered in February 1857. There, in 1873, Webb discovered lead while plowing. With the assistance of W.A. Daugherty, he sank the first pump-shaft in 1874. Webb then leased his land to Daugherty and G.P. Ashcraft. A diverging diamond interchange (DDI), also called a double crossover diamond interchange (DCD), is a subset of diamond interchange in which the opposing directions of travel on the non-freeway road cross each other on either side of the interchange so that traffic crossing the freeway on the overpass or underpass is operating on the opposite driving side from that which is customary for the jurisdiction.
