International Piranesi Award
The International Piranesi Award, is an biennial award for architectural projects that were created in several nations in Central Europe and the Balkans. Started in 1989, the Piranesi Award is given out at the Piran Days of Architecture international conference in Piran, Slovenia. It was named after Giovanni Battista Piranesi. Participating countries include Austria, Bosnia, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Greece, Herzegovina, Hungary, Italy, Serbia, Slovakia, and Slovenia. Main award The projects presented at the Piranesi exhibition, are selected and nominated at the end of October by the national selectors of the participating countries. Each selector can propose five projects. Fifty architectural realizations compete for the award. Bielerhöhe Pass
The Bielerhöhe connects the Montafon valley in Vorarlberg with the Paznaun valley in Tirol. At 2,037 m above sea level, the Bielerhöhe lies in the Vorarlberg region, due north of the Silvretta Reservoir. The Bielerhöhe is the highest reachable point of the Silvretta high alpine road, a toll road over the Bielerhöhe. Due to its exposed location the road is closed to normal traffic in winter (from November to April) at which time it can be reached only by cable car from Partenen, and then, using a taxi service, through a tunnel owned by the Vorarlberger Illwerke AG, followed by the last stretch along the mountain pass road. Bruno Kreisky
Bruno Kreisky (; 22 January 1911 – 29 July 1990) was an Austrian social democratic politician who served as Foreign Minister from 1959 to 1966 and as Chancellor from 1970 to 1983. Aged 72 at the end of his chancellorship, he was the oldest Chancellor after World War II. His 13-year tenure was the longest of any Chancellor in republican Austria. With his 13-year chancellorship, known as the Kreisky era, he is one of the most important political figures in the country as well as in Western European social democracy. Mondsee (town)
__NOTOC__ Mondsee is a town in the Vöcklabruck district in the Austrian state of Upper Austria located on the shore of the lake Mondsee. The town is home to the medieval Mondsee Abbey, whose cloister church was used for the site of the wedding in ''The Sound of Music''. The Parco Botanico Friulano "Cormor", also known as the Parco del Cormor or Parco Botanico del Cormôr, is a municipal park and botanical garden located in Udine, Friuli, Italy. The park was created 1990–93 by architect Roberto Pirzio Biroli, for which he won the International Piranesi Award, on a neglected site northwest of the town center.
