International Musician And Recording World
''International Musician and Recording World'' was a magazine published from 1975 to 1991. Originally launched in the UK, editions were created for the United States, Europe, Australia, and Japan. Foundation ''International Musician and Recording World'' was created by Ray Hammond, Richard Desmond, and Malcolm Green. The title was published by Cover Publications Ltd, which the trio incorporated in London in 1974. Desmond and Hammond had previously worked together at Beat Instrumental, while Green was a former managing director at HH Electronic and joint proprietor of White Rabbit Records with Desmond. Cover Publications would later become Northern & Shell. John Francis Anthony "Jaco" Pastorius III (; December 1, 1951 – September 21, 1987) was an American jazz bassist, composer and producer. He recorded albums as a solo artist and band leader and was a member of Weather Report from 1976 to 1981. He also collaborated with other artists, most notably Pat Metheny and Joni Mitchell. His bass playing employed funk, lyrical solos, bass chords, and innovative harmonics. As of 2017 he was the only electric bassist of seven bassists inducted into the ''DownBeat'' Jazz Hall of Fame, and he has been lauded as among the best electric bassists of all time.
