International Development Committee
The International Development Committee is a select committee of the House of Commons in the Parliament of the United Kingdom. The remit of the Committee is to examine the expenditure, administration and policy of the international aid functions of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and public bodies which work with the Office in relation to international aid and official development assistance. Select Committee (United Kingdom)
In British politics, parliamentary select committees can be appointed from the House of Commons, like the Foreign Affairs Select Committee; from the House of Lords, like the Delegated Powers and Regulatory Reform Committee; or as a joint committee of Parliament drawn from both, such as the Joint Committee on Human Rights. Committees may exist as "sessional" committees – i.e. be near-permanent – or as "ad-hoc" committees with a specific deadline by which to complete their work, after which they cease to exist, such as the Lords Committee on Public Service and Demographic Change. Christopher Murray Alexander Law (born 21 October 1969) is a Scottish National Party (SNP) politician. He has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Dundee West since 2015. He was first elected at the 2015 general election, winning a seat that had been held by Labour for the previous 65 years. He served as SNP Spokesperson for International Development from 2017 to 2022, resigning from his position after the election of Stephen Flynn. David Gordon Mundell, (born 27 May 1962) is a Scottish politician and solicitor who served as Secretary of State for Scotland from 2015 to 2019. History Stockport was created as a two-member parliamentary borough by the Reform Act 1832. Navendu Prabhat Mishra (born 22 August 1989) is a British Labour Party politician who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Stockport since 2019. Early life He is of Indian ancestry; his mother is from Gorakhpur and his father is from Kanpur, both in Uttar Pradesh. He attended the public school Clifton College in Bristol. Nigel John Mills is a British Conservative Party politician and former chartered accountant. He has been Member of Parliament (MP) for Amber Valley in Derbyshire since the 2010 general election.
