Intercity Football League 2009
The 2009 Intercity Football League season is the third since its establishment in 2007. It started from February 14, 2009. At the end of 2008, the Chinese Taipei Football Association decided to merge the Enterprise Football League into the Intercity Football League, and therefore the latter became the highest-ranked football league in Taiwan. The league included two divisions. Division A consisted of six teams, and the remaining teams participated in Division B. The last-placed team in Division A would be relegated to Division B while the champion of Division B would move up to Division A. New league regulations required each team to be named after the administrative division in which they were located. Each team also needed two-thirds of its players to reside in the area for at least one month. Intercity Football League () was the top-ranked division in the Taiwanese football (soccer) league run by Chinese Taipei Football Association (CTFA), run from 2007 until 2016. From 2017, it was replaced by the Taiwan Football Premier League. History The Intercity Football League was founded in 2007 after the transformation of then highest-ranked National First Division Football League (later Enterprise Football League). Different from the later, registered players were initially grouped by their Administrative divisions of the Republic of China, places of residence, such as Tainan City, rather than specialized football teams, such as Taiwan Power Company F.C., Taiwan Power Company (Taipower). The only exception was Tatung F.C., Tatung FC, who represented Taipei City to compete in the league. Kaohsiung County Stadium
The Fongshan Stadium (), formerly known as the Kaohsiung County Stadium (高雄縣立體育場), is a multi-purpose stadium in Fongshan District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. It is currently used mostly for football matches and serves as the home venue of the Taipower Football Club. The stadium is able to hold 18,000 people and was opened in 1976.
