Intel Extreme Masters Season X – San Jose (IEM San Jose for short) was a video game esports tournament occurring on November 21–22, 2015 in San Jose, California, US. It was the first tournament of 10th season of the Intel Extreme Masters and featured '' League of Legends'' and '' Counter-Strike: Global Offensive'' tournaments. There was a combined US$175,000 prize pool across both games. In the case of the latter it was the first ''Counter-Strike'' event an IEM since IEM Season VI in 2012. Mark Cuban and Brian Krzanich played a charity celebrity exhibition match of '' League of Legends'' benefiting The Cybersmile Foundation. The SAP Center at San Jose (originally known as San Jose Arena and the HP Pavilion at San Jose) is an indoor arena located in San Jose, California. Its primary tenant is the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League, for which the arena has earned the nickname "The Shark Tank". ''Counter-Strike: Global Offensive'' (''CS:GO'') is a 2012 multiplayer tactical first-person shooter developed by Valve and Hidden Path Entertainment. It is the fourth game in the ''Counter-Strike'' series. Developed for over two years, ''Global Offensive'' was released for OS X, PlayStation 3, Windows, and Xbox 360 in August 2012, and for Linux in 2014. Valve still regularly updates the game, both with smaller balancing patches and larger content additions. The game pits two teams, Terrorists and Counter-Terrorists, against each other in different objective-based game modes. ''League of Legends'' Champions Korea (LCK) is the primary competition for ''League of Legends'' esports in South Korea. Contested by ten teams, the league runs two seasons per year and serves as a direct route to qualification for the annual ''League of Legends'' World Championship. The LCK is administered in cooperation between Riot Games and KeSPA. The ''League of Legends'' Pro League (LPL) is the top-level professional league for ''League of Legends'' in China. The first season of the LPL was the 2013 Spring season. The top three finishers of the playoff tournament receive automatic bids to the ''League of Legends'' World Championship. The League Championship Series (LCS) is the top level of professional ''League of Legends'' in the United States and Canada. The esports league is run by Riot Games and has ten franchise teams. The November 2015 Paris attacks () were a series of coordinated Islamist terrorist attacks that took place on Friday, 13 November 2015 in Paris, France, and the city's northern suburb, Saint-Denis. Beginning at 9:15p.m., three suicide bombers struck outside the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, during an international football match, after failing to gain entry to the stadium. Another group of attackers then fired on crowded cafés and restaurants in Paris, with one of them also detonating an explosive, killing himself in the process. A third group carried out another mass shooting and took hostages at an Eagles of Death Metal concert attended by 1,500 people in the Bataclan theatre, leading to a stand-off with police.
