Inside Out (Fates Warning Album)
''Inside Out'' is the seventh studio album by progressive metal band Fates Warning, released on July 26, 1994 through Metal Blade Records. The album continues with the commercial sound that '' Parallels'' began. It was the last to feature long-time bassist Joe DiBiase, who left after its release, as well as the last to feature guitarist Frank Aresti until his return to band in 2005. Aresti later appeared on their 2013 album '' Darkness in a Different Light'' as a full-time member and on the 2016 album ''Theories of Flight'' as a guest. DiBiase would return in 2010 and 2016 for a number of shows, but did not officially rejoin. This album was re-released in 2006 in Germany as part of a 2-CD Set with the album '' Disconnected'' featuring bonus tracks. Fates Warning
Fates Warning is an American progressive metal band, formed in Hartford, Connecticut, in 1982 by vocalist John Arch, guitarists Jim Matheos and Victor Arduini, bassist Joe DiBiase, and drummer Steve Zimmerman. There have been numerous lineup changes over the course of their -year career, and Matheos is the only constant member. As of 2020, the band consists of Matheos, vocalist Ray Alder (who replaced Arch in 1987), bassist Joey Vera (who replaced DiBiase in 1996), drummer Bobby Jarzombek and guitarist Michael Abdow. Fates Warning also had a revolving cast of drummers and guitarists by the time Jarzombek and Abdow joined the band in 2007 and 2020 respectively. The Fates are a common motif in European polytheism, most frequently represented as a trio of goddesses. The Fates shape the destiny of each human, often expressed in textile metaphors such as spinning fibers into yarn, or weaving threads on a loom. This trio is composed of sisters who go by the names Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos (also known as the daughters of Zeus and Themis). These divine figures are often artistically depicted as beautiful maidens with consideration to their serious responsibility: the life of mortals. Hugh Syme
Hugh Syme is a Canadian Juno Award-winning graphic artist and member of the Premier Artists Collection (PAC) who is best known for his artwork and cover concepts for rock and metal bands. He is also a musician and has appeared on some Rush albums as a keyboard player. Syme is notably responsible for all of Rush's album cover art since 1975's ''Caress of Steel'' as well as creating Rush's famous Starman logo. Jim Matheos
Jim Matheos (born November 22, 1962) is an American guitarist and the primary songwriter for the progressive metal band Fates Warning, in which he has been the only consistent member since the group's beginning. Matheos also plays in OSI alongside Kevin Moore (Chroma Key, ex-Dream Theater), as well as making other appearances with many different bands and artists. He has also released two solo instrumental albums on Metal Blade Records. In 2003, Matheos collaborated with original Fates Warning vocalist John Arch on 2003's '' A Twist of Fate'', Arch's first professional recording since leaving Fates Warning in 1987. Ray Alder (born Raymond Balderrama, August 20, 1967) is an American musician. He is the lead vocalist of the progressive metal band Fates Warning since their 1988 release ''No Exit''. He is of Mexican descent. He has released two albums ''Engine'' in 1999 and ''Superholic'' in 2002 with Engine. He also sang on Redemption's albums '' The Origins of Ruin'', '' The Fullness of Time'', '' Snowfall on Judgment Day'', ''This Mortal Coil'', and '' The Art of Loss'', having produced their debut self-titled release in 2002. Frank Aresti
Frank Aresti is an American guitarist and composer and former member of progressive metal band Fates Warning. Background Aresti was in a metal band called Demonax before joining Fates Warning. His first appearance was during the tour of 1985, promoting the album '' The Spectre Within''. The following year, he became an official member of the band. He co-wrote "Giant's Lore (Heart of Winter)" along with John Arch. During the following albums, Aresti wrote lyrics to various songs on Fates Warning's albums. On the ''No Exit'' album, he was the primary lyricist for three songs: "Anarchy Divine", "In a Word" and "Shades of Heavenly Death".
