Ingrid Wells
Ingrid Kirsten Wells (born March 29, 1989) is an American professional soccer player from Montclair, New Jersey. Nicknamed "the Little General", Wells was a midfielder for the Georgetown Hoyas women's soccer team as well as various levels of the USWNT. She previously played in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) for the Western New York Flash and Washington Spirit, Sweden's Göteborg FC in the Damallsvenskan, 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam in the German Frauen-Bundesliga, and was captain of the United States U-23 women's national soccer team from 2010 to 2012. She retired from her soccer career to pursue a career in public health nutrition at the end of the 2015 season. 2013 National Women's Soccer League Season
The 2013 National Women's Soccer League season was the inaugural season of the National Women's Soccer League, the top division of women's soccer in the United States. Including the NWSL's two professional predecessors, Women's Professional Soccer (2009–2011) and the Women's United Soccer Association (2001–2003), this was the seventh overall season of FIFA and USSF-sanctioned top division women's soccer in the United States. The league was (and is) operated by the United States Soccer Federation and receives major financial backing from that body. Further financial backing was provided by the Canadian Soccer Association and the Mexican Football Federation.
