Inger Eriksdotter
Inger Eriksdotter (ca. 1100–1157) was the wife of Asser Rig, tribal chief of Zealand (Sjælland) in today's Denmark. Inger's father is said to have been Earl Eric. Her mother was Princess Cecilia Knutsdatter (daughter of Canute IV of Denmark and Adela of Flanders). Inger and Asser resided at Fjenneslevlille and built Fjenneslev Kirke. Adela Of Flanders
Adela of Flanders (also Ala and Alana in southern Italian sources) (c. 1064 – April 1115), was Queen consort of Denmark by marriage to King Canute IV and duchess of Apulia by marriage to Duke Roger Borsa, and then regent of Apulia from 1111 to 1115 as mother and guardian of Duke William II. Life Adela was born the daughter of Robert I, Count of Flanders, and Gertrude of Saxony. In 1080 she married King Canute IV of Denmark. The marriage was arranged as a part of an alliance between Flanders and Denmark against William the Conqueror. During this marriage, she had three children: a son, later Count Charles the Good (born in 1084), and twin daughters, Cecilia and Ingegerd (born ca. 1085/86). Sorø Klosterkirke
Sorø Klosterkirke (i.e. ''Sorø Abbey Church'') is located in the Danish town of Sorø. It was founded by Danish archbishop Absalon and built by Cistercians in the period from 1161 to 1201. It is made of red brick, which was a new material for the time. It is built similar style to the Abbey of Fontenay. Esbern Snare
Esbern Snare, also known as Esbern the Resolute, (1127–1204) was a '' høvding'', or chieftain, royal chancellor and crusader. His family were members of the powerful Hvide clan. In 1192, during the Crusades and after the fall of Jerusalem, he led a small group of Danish soldiers to the Holy Land. Upon his return, he had the Church of Our Lady, Kalundborg built. Cecilia Knutsdatter
Cecilia Knudsdatter of Danmark (born 1081/85 – after 7 January 1131), was a Danish princess, daughter of Canute IV of Denmark and Adela of Flanders. At the deposition and murder of her father in 1086, her mother left Denmark and returned to Flanders with her son Charles, while Cecilia and her sister Ingegerd followed their paternal uncle Eric I of Denmark and aunt Boedil Thurgotsdatter, who became their foster parents, to Sweden. Eric and Boedil returned to Denmark when Eric rescinded to the throne in 1095. Both sisters married Swedish nobility. Cecilia married Earl Eric. She later returned to Denmark, where her spouse was made jarl of Falster, and the couple settled at Haraldsted at Ringsted. The couple had two sons: Knud and Carl, Duke of Halland. She also possibly had a daughter Inger Eriksdotter, who married Asser Rig, a magnate of the Hvide clan from Fjenneslev on Zealand, and was the mother of Esbern Snare and Absalon.
