Indianapolis World Sports Park
Indianapolis World Sports Park is an American sporting complex in Indianapolis, Indiana. The site covers at the former Post Road Community Park and consists of three multi-use fields for the sports of cricket, lacrosse, hurling, rugby, Australian rules football, and Gaelic football. The $5.1 million facility was completed in 2014. History Announced in 2013 as an initiative of Mayor Greg Ballard, the facility was slated to host the U.S. cricket men's national championship in August 2014 as its inaugural event, but city officials canceled a three-year hosting contract with the national cricketing group in May of that year, citing "deteriorated" communication about sponsorships, publicity, and other event planning details. 2015 ICC Americas Twenty20 Division One
The 2015 ICC Americas Twenty20 Division One was a cricket tournament held in the United States from 3–10 May 2015. All matches were played at the World Sports Park in Indianapolis, Indiana. The top two teams at the tournament, Canada and the United States, progressed to the 2015 World Twenty20 Qualifier in Ireland and Scotland, where the top six teams will qualify for the 2016 ICC World Twenty20 in India. The tournament was organised by ICC Americas, and featured the top four associate members in that region – Bermuda, Canada, Suriname, and the United States. One Day International
A One Day International (ODI) is a form of limited overs cricket, played between two teams with international status, in which each team faces a fixed number of overs, currently 50, with the game lasting up to 9 hours. The Cricket World Cup, generally held every four years, is played in this format. One Day International matches are also called Limited Overs Internationals (LOI), although this generic term may also refer to Twenty20 International matches. Caribbean Premier League
The Caribbean Premier League (abbreviated to CPL or CPLT20) is an annual Twenty20 cricket tournament held in the Caribbean. It was founded by Cricket West Indies in 2013 to replace the Caribbean Twenty20 as the premier Twenty20 competition in the Caribbean. It is currently sponsored by Hero MotoCorp and consequently officially named the Hero CPL. The inaugural tournament was won by the Jamaica Tallawahs who defeated the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the final. The International Cricket Council (ICC) is the world governing body of cricket. Headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, its members are 108 national associations, with 12 Full Members and 96 Associate Members. Nicholas Standford (born June 4, 1987) is an American cricketer of Barbadian origin who made his debut for the U.S. national team in November 2012. He is a right-handed top-order batsman and occasional right-arm medium bowler. David Lloyd Hemp (born 8 November 1970) is a former Bermudian cricketer. He is a left-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-pace bowler, who has played domestic cricket for Glamorgan, Free State, and Warwickshire. David has a younger brother, Tim, who has previously played for Glamorgan's second eleven, and who appeared for Wales Minor Counties in the NatWest Trophy. David Hemp has also played List A and Twenty20 cricket. He is currently Head coach of Pakistan Women Cricket Team. He attended Millfield School. County cricket Hemp first appeared for Glamorgan in 1991, and was part of the Glamorgan side which won the 1993 Sunday League championship. Test cricket is a form of first-class cricket played at international level between teams representing full member countries of the International Cricket Council (ICC). 2016 ICC World Twenty20
The 2016 ICC World Twenty20 was the sixth edition of the ICC World Twenty20, the world championship of Twenty20 International cricket. It was held in India from 8 March to 3 April 2016, and was the first edition to be hosted by India. Seven cities hosted matches in the tournament – Bangalore, Dharamshala, Kolkata, Mohali, Mumbai, Nagpur, and New Delhi. For the second time, there were 16 participating teams, 10 of which qualified automatically due to their status as full members of the International Cricket Council (ICC), and another six qualifying through the 2015 World Twenty20 Qualifier. The 2015 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier, for the 2016 World Twenty20, was held from 6 to 26 July 2015. The tournament was hosted by both Ireland and Scotland. 51 matches were played among 14 nations, down from 72 matches among 16 nations previously. The tournament formed part of the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier series, with the top six teams going forward to the qualifying round of the 2016 ICC World Twenty20 tournament. Matches where both teams had T20I status were recorded as a Twenty20 International match. Suriname National Cricket Team
The Suriname national cricket team is the team that represents Suriname in international cricket. The team is organised by the Suriname Cricket Board, which has been an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 2011 (and previous an affiliate member from 2002). Suriname made its international debut at the 2004 Americas Affiliates Championship in Panama, where it placed last. At the 2006 ICC Americas Championship, the team won the division three event, and was promoted to division two for the 2008 edition. Suriname also won that event, and were promoted to the 2008 Division One tournament in the United States, but were immediately relegated after going winless.
