India At The 2010 Asian Games
India participated in the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China between 12–27 November 2010. The contingent was led by Gagan Narang. India put up its best ever performance at Asian Games. They finished the games at 65 medals including 14 golds which is India's second best performance ever since inception of Asian Games in 1951. These games also witnessed first ever medals in Gymnastics and Roller Sports. Indian Olympic Association
The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) or Indian Olympic Committee (IOC) is the body responsible for selecting athletes to represent India at the Olympic Games, Asian Games and other international athletic meets and for managing the Indian teams at these events. Sanam Krishan Singh (born 11 January 1988), is a former Indian tennis player. Singh won the doubles gold medal and the bronze in the team event at the 2010 Asian Games. Ronjan Sodhi (born 23 October 1979 in Ferozepur, Punjab, India) is an Indian Double trap shooter. He won two silver medals at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and a gold medal at the 2010 Asian Games. In 2011, he became first Indian to successfully defend a World Cup title. He is also a recipient of the Arjuna Award and Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award (2013). Preeja Sreedharan
Preeja Sreedharan (born 13 March 1982 at Mullakkanam, Idukki, Kerala) is an Indian long-distance runner. She holds the national records in both the 10,000 metres and 5000 metres disciplines, which she set en route to the gold and silver medals at 2010 Asian Games, 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games. Sreedharan was conferred with the Arjuna Award, India's second highest sporting honour by the Government of India, central government in 2011. Sreedharan's breakthrough came in 2007, when she won the silver medal in both the disciplines at the 2007 Asian Athletics Championships, Asian Athletics Championships. Somdev Kishore Devvarman (born 13 February 1985) is a former professional Indian tennis player. He hit the headlines for being the only collegiate player to have made three consecutive finals at the NCAA, winning back-to-back finals in his junior and senior years at the University of Virginia. The Field hockey event at the 2010 Asian Games was held in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China from 13 November 2010 for Women and 15 November 2010 for Men. In this tournament, 10 teams played in the men's competition, and 7 teams participated in the women's competition. All matches were played at the Aoti Hockey Field.
