"In the Middle" (stylized in Letter case, caps) is a song recorded by Japanese-American singer-songwriter Ai (singer), Ai featuring Daichi Miura. It was released on August 13, 2021, through EMI Records and Universal Music Group. Background In early August 2021, Ai shared an image on social media teasing her next single. A longtime friend with Miura, "In the Middle" will serve as their first collaboration. About the song, Ai commented, "There is no right, left, top, or bottom. I want to always be in the middle with the compassion that many people want to be equal, not which is worse or which is better." Music video A music video directed by Yoshiharu Seri was released on August 13, 2021. In a behind the scenes video, Ai commented, "This is the first music video that made me cry so much." , known mononymously as Ai (, stylized as AI or A.I. ), is a Japanese-American singer-songwriter, rapper, record producer, spokeswoman, and actress. Born in Los Angeles, California, Ai moved to Kagoshima, at age 4. Motivated to become a singer, Ai returned to Los Angeles, attending the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts. While in Los Angeles, Ai began her musical career performing as part of a gospel choir at a Mary J. Blige concert and as a dancer for Janet Jackson's music video, "Go Deep". She briefly joined the Asian girl group SX4 in 1999 until she graduated high school. (also known as CDTV) is a Japanese late-night music television program, broadcast on TBS since 1993. The program is shown weekly, and features a Japanese music video hit chart countdown, live performances from musicians and music information. It is presented by three CGI-animated hosts.
