In Solitude
In Solitude was a Swedish heavy metal band from Uppsala. History The band formed in 2002 with Henrik Helenius, Niklas Lindström, Gottfrid Åhman, and Uno Bruniusson. Pelle Åhman (Gottfrid's brother) joined the band as their lead vocalist in 2003. They released their first, self-titled demo in 2004. The following year, vocalist/guitarist Henrik Heleius left the band and was replaced by Mattias Gustafsson in the same year. In 2006 the band released the second demo, ''Hidden Dangers'', and in 2008, Sweden's S.M.P. Records released the EP ''Hidden Dangers'' as a 7″. Shortly after this the band released their self-titled full-length debut in the form of a CD on Pure Steel Records and on vinyl through High Roller Records. The album was recorded at Burlesco Studios at the same as the demos, and was produced by Hasse Bruniusson. Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. ''Sister'' is the third and final album by Swedish heavy metal band In Solitude. This is their second album to be released through Metal Blade Records, having signed with the label in 2010, and was released on 1 October 2013. The album was recorded at Studio Cobra in Stockholm in March 2013 and was produced and mixed by Martin "Konie" Ehrencrona. Reception The album averaged 78/100 on Metacritic which indicates "generally favorable reviews". Andy O'Connor, writing for Pitchfork, gave the album 7.1/10 and was largely positive about the album. In particular, he praised the song "Pallid Hands", writing that the song "brings a romanticism that hasn't been seen in metal in a while, and is the group's finest song to date. It recalls 70s Judas Priest's more bittersweet moments, a casualty of the group's success in the 80s, or a more serious stab at April Wine's ' Sign of the Gypsy Queen'. Cradle of Filth are an English extreme metal band formed in Suffolk in 1991. Behemoth is a Polish extreme metal band from Gdańsk, formed in 1991. They are considered to have played an important role in establishing the Polish extreme metal underground. Occult rock (also known as doom rock or witch rock) is a subgenre of rock music that originated in the late 1960s to early 1970s, pioneered by bands such as Coven and Black Widow.
