''Immolation Tape'' (stylised in all-lowercase) is the third extended play by Australian alternative rock band Gang of Youths, surprise released on 20 May 2022. It contains re-recorded acoustic versions of three tracks from their preceding third studio album ''Angel in Realtime'', as well as a cover of "Shot in the Arm" by Wilco. Background and release The EP was recorded at a Sirius XM studio in March 2022 for the station's Spectrum Sessions program in the United States following the release of their third studio album, ''Angel in Realtime'' (February). On 10 March, the band released their cover of Wilco's "Shot in the Arm" as part of the session. On 20 May, the band performed their song "Forbearance" live on American late night talk show '' Jimmy Kimmel Live.'' Gang of Youths are an Australian alternative rock group from Sydney based in London. The band consists of principal songwriter David Le'aupepe (lead vocals, guitar), Max Dunn (bass guitar), Jung Kim (lead guitar, keyboards), Donnie Borzestowski (drums), and Tom Hobden (violin, keyboards, guitar). John Stirratt
John Chadwick Stirratt is an American bassist and multi-instrumentalist for Wilco and The Autumn Defense. Early career Stirratt grew up in Mandeville, Louisiana. He attended Mandeville High School and the University of Mississippi, and is a member of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. He played regularly around the American South with The Hilltops, a band based in Oxford, Mississippi, that included his twin sister Laurie Stirratt and her husband Cary Hudson. During this time he met and befriended the band Uncle Tupelo and supported them on tours of the East and Midwest. Jeffrey Scot Tweedy (born August 25, 1967) is an American musician, songwriter, author, and record producer best known as the singer and guitarist of the band Wilco.
