Imam Khomeini Mosalla Tehran
The Grand Mosalla Mosque of Tehran, also known as the Imam Khomeini Mosalla, is a mosque in Tehran, Iran. It is used for hosting weekly Friday prayer, as well as cultural, political, educational, worship activities, including book fairs, exhibitions, and religious ceremonies. History The Grand Mosalla Mosque originated in a 1982 proposal to replace the University of Tehran as the primary location for weekly Friday prayer. A large section of land in Abbas Abad, the original site for the never-materialized pre-Revolution megaproject Shahestan Pahlavi, was allocated for the Grand Mosalla. On 19 February 1985, a public announcement was issued, calling on talented and experienced designers to submit drafts for the mosque's design. Jamaran Hussainiya
Jamaran Hussainiya was the house of Ruhollah Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in Jamaran village. On 23 January 1980, Ayatollah Khomeini went to Tehran from Qom to cure a heart ailment. According to doctors recommendation, the weather of Qom did not agree with him. The house of Khomeini was next to the Hussainiya in Jamaran village. The house was linked to a large mosque by a metal platform. Khomeini often walked up a flight of stairs leading from his house to the balcony of the mosque, from which he often spoke. History On 23 January 1980, Ayatollah Khomeini went to Tehran from Qom to cure a heart ailment. He was hospitalized for thirty nine days, then he resided in the north Tehran suburb of Darband. Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani Expressway, formerly called Resalat Expressway, is an east-west expressway in Tehran, Iran. It joins the eastern localities of Tehran metropolis, including Resalat District, to Seyed Khandan in north-central Tehran and further to western parts of the Greater Tehran. The Tehran Metro ( fa, مترو تهران, translit=Metro-ye Tehrān) is a rapid transit system serving Tehran, the capital of Iran. It is the largest metro system in the Middle East. The system is owned and operated by Tehran Urban and Suburban Railway. It consists of six operational metro lines (and an additional commuter rail line), with construction under way on three lines including west extension of line 4, line 6 and north and east extension line 7.
