Im Sung-han
Im Sung-han (born Im Young-ran on August 24, 1960) is a South Korean television screenwriter. Her best-known dramas include ''Miss Mermaid'' and ''Dear Heaven''. Career Im Sung-han began her career writing for single-episode anthologies. Her first known work was the 1991 episode "Standing in a Maze" for KBS's ''Drama Game'', then she moved on to MBC's ''Best Theater'' in 1997, with "Definitely" (for which Im won a screenplay award). She also used another pseudonym, Im Hyang-ran (), in writing other ''Best Theater'' episodes. This led to her first television drama series in 1998, ''See and See Again'' (also known as ''Looking Again and Again'' and ''Can't Take My Eyes Off You''), about two families doubly related by marriage. Korean Shamanism
Korean shamanism or Mu-ism is a religion from Korea. In the Korean language, alternative terms for the tradition are ''musok'' () and ''mugyo'' (무교, 巫敎). Scholars of religion have classified it as a folk religion. There is no central authority in control of the religion and much diversity exists among practitioners. The ''musok'' tradition is polytheistic, promoting belief in a range of deities. Both these deities and ancestral spirits are deemed capable of interacting with living humans and causing them problems. Central to the religion are ritual specialists, the majority of them female, called ''mudang'' (Hangul:무당, Hanja: 巫堂) or ''mu'' (무, 巫); in English they have sometimes been called "shamans," although the validity of this is contested. Joseon Dynasty
Joseon (; ; Middle Korean: 됴ᇢ〯션〮 Dyǒw syéon or 됴ᇢ〯션〯 Dyǒw syěon), officially the Great Joseon (; ), was the last dynastic kingdom of Korea, lasting just over 500 years. It was founded by Yi Seong-gye in July 1392 and replaced by the Korean Empire in October 1897. ''New Tales of Gisaeng'' (; also known as ''New Gisaeng Story'') is a 2011 South Korean television series starring Im Soo-hyang, Sung Hoon, and Han Hye-rin.
