Ilopango Airport
Ilopango International Airport is an airport located on the eastern part of the city of San Salvador, El Salvador, once serving the city as its international airport until it was replaced by the larger and more modern El Salvador International Airport, located about 50 km south of the city. Currently, Ilopango is used for military, air taxi, and charter aviation only. It also holds the annual Ilopango Air Show. The airport is also home to the National Aviation Museum (''Museo Nacional de Aviación'') of San Salvador, which is housed in the old terminal building. TAG Airlines was a small airline serving primarily Downtown Cleveland, Ohio with Downtown Detroit, Michigan from 1957 until 1970. History It was founded by William Knight in Cleveland, Ohio as Taxi Air Group in , was then sold to Ross Miller, merged with Illini Airlines in 1957 and definitely renamed. Aviateca S.A. branded Avianca Guatemala is a regional airline headquartered in Guatemala City. Aviateca was under government ownership and remained so until 1989 when it joined the Grupo TACA alliance of Central America and was privatized. La Aurora International Airport ( es, Aeropuerto Internacional La Aurora, ) serves Guatemala City, Guatemala. It is located south of Guatemala City's center and from Antigua Guatemala. It is administered by the Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil. La Aurora International Airport is the primary airport of Guatemala. The airport went through a massive modernization and expansion. The airport is now able to accept a greater number of flights and larger aircraft. It provides high standard installations to the traveler. Transportes Aéreos Guatemaltecos (TAG) is a private passenger and cargo airline with its headquarters in Zone 13 of Guatemala City, and with its main hub at La Aurora International Airport. It was founded in 1969 in Guatemala City. In 1972 the airline added a Douglas DC-3 to its fleet, competing with the state-owned Aviateca. Today TAG has around 70 employees and operates an own maintenance facility at La Aurora International Airport. The hangars are located opposite to the main terminal building, on the east side of the airport.
