Ileana María Dávila Rodríguez (born 24 January 1975) is a Mexican association football, football manager. Dávila currently works as a football analyst for Televisa Deportes Network. Career Early career Ileana Dávila was born on 24 January 1975 in Córdoba, Veracruz. After seeing an ad in a newspaper for a football coach program, Dávila started her formation at the Mexican Football Federation school and she later successfully graduated from the program, being the only woman in her class. She started her career coaching college and Indoor soccer, indoor football teams, and in 2017 she went to the Club Universidad Nacional looking for a job. Initially, Dávila asked to be the first team's kit manager, since UNAM did not have any women's football program at the moment, but club chairman Rodrigo Ares de Parga refused. The 2017–18 Liga MX Femenil season was the inaugural season of the top-flight women's football league in Mexico. The season is contested by sixteen teams, being the counterpart women's teams of the men's league, Liga MX. The 2017 Copa MX Femenil was a women's association football tournament in Mexico. The tournament consists of 12 of the 16 Liga MX Femenil teams. The tournament was held between 3 May and 6 May at the Mexican Football Federation headquarters in Toluca, Mexico. The tournament was used by teams as a test to prepare for the Liga MX Femenil which launched in the second half of 2017. Pachuca won the final 9–1 against Club Tijuana. The Liga MX Femenil, officially known as the Liga BBVA MX Femenil for sponsorship reasons, is the highest division of women's football in Mexico. Supervised by the Mexican Football Federation, this professional league has 18 teams, each coinciding with a Liga MX team. Following the same schedule as the men's league, each season has two halves: an Apertura tournament, which takes place from July to December, and a Clausura tournament, which takes place from January to May.
